Dainty Doll Liquid Foundation In Medium

I recently found out that Dainty Doll makeup was on sale on Amazon (£3.99!!! from £22), so as this is a higher end brand that I have never used and it was cheap as chips, I thought I'd invest in some new foundation.

I got Dainty Doll Liquid Foundation in Medium. Which I'm really glad about as Light would DEFINITELY of been too light. It arrived this morning and I was so excited I instantly flung it on my face!

About Dainty Doll

Dainty Doll is developed especially to enhance the beauty of fairer skin tones. Created using the finest quality, skin-loving formulas to help cover, perfect and care for your skin, The Dainty Doll range makes it much easier for those with paler skin tones to achieve the ideal shade every time.

If you didn't already know, which I'm sure most of you did - this is Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud's range of make up. She of course, is extremely pale and I think that it's fantastic that she started this range because there was a definite gap in the market for us paleys!

The initial packaging is gorgeous, and it's to be expected for such a high end product. Usually these foundations are £22+ so they are up with Mac and Nars in price. The box is a lovely black with white writing and the cartoon Nicola Roberts on the front is adorable! Very pleasing to the eye. As you can also see the ingredients states that this foundation is Paraben Free and is also SPF 15 - so they're really looking after us at Dainty Doll!

The bottle itself is a standard push bottle. And it squeezes out the foundation fantastically. The medium shade which I bought I would say is great for those with pale rose skin (like mine), it's sort of a light pinky colour which blends well on the skin. As you can see in the last photo it look's a little shimmery on my hand, but once on my face I couldn't notice a shimmer at all! The foundation has a thick consistency and I would say medium coverage although definitely buildable! I've had the foundation on now for 6 hours and my skin feels great, no drying at all and still looks fresh in the mirror - as if I've just put it on!

This is definitely going to be my foundation from now on. I feel like I've moved on to bigger and better things now this foundation is in my life! Ha!

Dainty Doll is still on sale at Amazon and you can also get it for extremely cheap on Ebay!

Design Placement!

Ahhh I am so excited I just needed to share it with people! I've been offered a placement to work in a Production Studio at University! I will be working for the linked college to produce advertisements and educational videos! I get to work in a proper office and have my own Mac and I AM SO EXCITED! Espesh because it's extremely rare that they give first years placements! And the best part of it is that one of my best friends Sophie is going to be doing it with me! I start on Monday (I think) but have a meeting about it on Thursday! The best part of this for me is that the guy who is going to be in charge of us is friends with the band The Courteeners, so I'm probably going to spend all my working time discussing music! I CAN'T WAIT!

Yessssssss.

Score one for me!

Working with green screen!

On location shooting.

Editing video.

Disney sketches.

Every other day.
5. Do you wear the same hair style everyday or do you change it up?

I Love...Paisley Print!

I absolutely adore Paisley Print. I think it's completely gorgeous and suits almost everyone! I guess that's why I was so excited to find that Motel Rocks (as we all know, this is my absolute fave online shop) has their own line of Paisley Print clothes! It's such a cute blue and white pattern, very girly and wear-able! I can't wait to add some of these to my clothing collection - especially the Paisley dungarees!

Absolutely gorgeous!

Life Update

Quick life update! I don't really have anything else to blog so I'll just let you into my life because we are all besties on the internet!

1. Last night I went out for a meal with the ladies of my family - my Mum, sister, Aunty Dawn, Aunty Helen & (Great) Aunty Glenis. I had a lovely time but got so unbelievably drunk (which some of you may of realised if you follow me on twitter - honestly it shouldn't be so accessible!) and cried most of the night about the deaths of my Nana and Grandma. Which made me realise how I haven't really grieved at all and I still can't cope well enough to function normally.

2. Kieron's band The Dark Rooms are the opening act for Heaven 17 on Friday and I can't wait to go and see them! Heaven 17 are a popular 80s band who sang the song "Temptation", you know the one!! HIGHER AND HIGHER, TEMPTATION!

3. I have changed the bedding in Sid's tank to soil instead of wood chips because the idiot has suicidal tendencies and has started throwing himself off the top of rocks and his hide in his tank.

4. I have started to read Beautiful Creatures but it's annoying me because I'm used to reading more adult themed books and everyone in this book is like 16. And it's super predictable. But yeah, we will see how it goes.

5. I haven't eaten meat, sweets or chocolate since the beginning of Lent (go me!)

6. In one months time it will be mine and Kieron's 2nd year anniversary! I cannot wait and I'm so happy. I still can't believe how in love I still am with him after all this time!

Honestly, how boring is my life? I have nothing else to report!

GAH Graphic Design!

I spent the day today designing a logo and banner (for Facebook) for my boyfriend's band. It's taken hours and hours, and although it may not look like much (or look like it took hours) I'm quite happy with it. I took most of these photos on my phone camera so sorry about the quality!

The outline of a guitar! Harder than I expected it to be and Illustrator is such a massive pain in the ass to use!

Wonky guitar and band name!

3D guitar!

The boys decided they wanted the Blackburn Crest in the background, so here is the guitar with a background and the crest!

The final product - it's not the best, but it look about 4 hours which is ridiculous considering what it is haha. Oh well.

Lent!

13th February - 30th March

I am giving up:

All meat - there are many reasons behind this one. Mainly, that I only EVER eat processed chicken. I don't tend to eat beef or pork or even proper chicken, but I do eat a lot of fatty chicken nuggets and southern fried chicken. Another reason is that my lovely boyfriend Kieron is a vegetarian and to be honest, I just want to see what it would be like and if I could actually live without eating meat. I thought it would be a good experiment.

Sweets & chocolate - sugary goodness is my downfall. I can't go a day without eating a packet of sweets or a chocolate bar. And at the end of the day it's extremely unhealthy for me and it's costing me a serious amount of money. I want to get fit for my holidays and this hopefully will help!

What are you giving up for Lent?

Wish me luck!!

A Change Of Opinion

I just wanted to add a new opinion on Rimmel's APOCALIPS. I have now been using these lip laquers for over a week (maybe two!), and I have tried to wear them every day. As much as I love how pigmented this product is and how nicely packaged it is, there is one thing that is completely grinding my gears.

IF YOU ACCIDENTLY PUT TOO MUCH ON, IT GET'S EVERYWHERE!

Please don't tell me I am the only one. I have found on many occasions that the gloss is all over my teeth or all over my face and in my hair. It annoys me that this product doesn't dry. The only way to slightly dry it is to dap your lips with toilet roll or a cotton bud, but then I find that it makes my lips really dry and flakey - not what you want.

I loved the idea of this product so much at first, and everybody else was raving on about them, but now I just feel let down. I feel like when I'm wearing these I have to constantly check my face and my teeth. I do not have this problem with any other lip product.

Pffft. Rant over.

My New Room!

Ahh this is such an exciting post for me to write because my room has FINALLY (after over a month of living in the guest bedroom) been finished! Woohoo! It's been transformed from a single bedroom into a double more "grown up" sort of room, including a 32" tv and Sid's tank! I am SO happy with the work my Dad did on my room, it looks completely different and it's so much nicer than it was when it was black and white. Ahhh!
