Brilliant Books!

1. Perks Of Being A Wallflower - this is my all time favourite book, as I'm sure it is for many people. I completely connect with the main character Charlie, and I think many people do. I must of read this book at least 12 times. I tend to read it when I'm sad or feeling depressed, mainly because it's nice to feel like you aren't the only one in the world feeling like that and a lot of things Charlie says I completely get and can relate to. I think if you haven't read this book you should go out and buy it NOW. I cannot stress enough how much this book means to me. It's absolutely beautiful and perfect.

2. The Fault In Our Stars - as you may or may not know, my Nana has terminal cancer so I completely get this book. The plot revolves around Hazel and her friend/boyfriend Augustus and it pretty much follows them around going to cancer survivor meetings and making their wish before they die. It's a wonderful book about relationships and love and I completely recommend it with all my heart. It's funny but it's also extremely sad at the same time and it's a definite must-read for pretty much anybody - my Mum absolutely loved this book and I think if you enjoyed Looking For Alaska (or any of John Green's other novels for that matter) you will adore this and it will stay with you for a long time.

3. The Mortal Instruments Series (City Of Bones, City Of Ashes, City Of Glass, City Of Fallen Angels & City Of Lost Souls) - this book series completely changed my life. Honestly. I started reading these when I was about 17 years old and I'm almost 21, so you can see how obsessive I am about them. They revolve around a girl named Clary Fay who finds out she is something called a Shadowhunter - which is basically a demon hunter. The books follow her transition and her ever evolving love with the absolutely fantastic Jace. If you are into mythology and magic then these books are you. I have literally fallen in love with each one of these books and honestly I feel like the characters are my best friends. I cannot wait for the film to come out in 2013, it will probably be the best day of my life.

4. Bared To You - so like most girls, I went through the 50 Shades Of Grey books when they came out and became popular. Though I enjoyed the books (I mean, who wouldn't want to go in the Red Room Of Pain? hot hot hot), I always felt like there was something missing. The writing in 50SOG is awful to say the least and I was looking for something more. That's when I found this bad boy. This book, is so much more realistic. It's not about the whole dom/sub thing at all, well not really, I think it's mentioned once but it's a passing comment. This book is more about two people falling in love and trying to save eachother from their pasts. They are both equally as messed up as eachother, but it's much more realistic and Gideon Cross who is the Christian Grey type character is SO much nicer and you feel like you could completely fall in love with him. He actually cares about Eva and shows it in a way that Christian never could for Ana. Plus the sex scenes are actually scorching hot. I'm drooling just thinking about it. If you want something sexy but also brilliantly emotional then this is the book for you. Miles better than 50 Shades.

5.Guild Hunter Novels (Angel's Blood, Archangel's Consort, Archangel's Kiss & Archangels Blade) - this is another series you will love if you like mythology and sexy angels. The books are set in New York, but not a New York as we know it. A New York that is run by powerful and beautiful Archangels. It follows the life of Elena, who works as a Guild Hunter, her job is to track down rogue vampires who break their contracts. One day she is hired by the Archangel of New York Raphael to do a job only she can do - track a rogue Archangel. I know from what I've just wrote that these books sound extremely childish and awful but honestly oh my good god. They are amazing. And they are adult books for a reason. The sex scenes are intense and the fight/action scenes are even more. They're absolutely fabulous to be honest and I can promise you'll fall in love with the characters the way that I did. 5 books later and I'm still addicted.

I genuinely do recommend all of these books, they are my absolute favourites and I just needed to share them with the rest of the world!!

Last Night

I went out last night, and although the night was a complete and utter disaster I seriously made an effort with my face!

Just had a night in the pub, and my friend Tina stole a balloon that says "21ST BIRTHDAY" on it, which is mint because it is my birthday in a few days (4th October)! Feel free to send me presents.

This is what I wore - obviously. Just a simple outfit because of how cold it was and rainy outside. Shorts from Missguided which I absolutely adore and wear at every possible opportunity. Fake Lita's from BooHoo.com. Vest from Primark and a blazer from H & M.

Graze.com

Graze.com is my new favourite thing. I have received two boxes so far and everything in them have been absolutely delicious. I feel good eating them because I know how healthy they are (although I'm not sure you're meant to eat all of it at once! whoops) and they have given me an unhealthy addiction to dried fruit - especially Apples. I am absolutely in love with Graze!

Above is the first box I ordered. It was delicious! I love the fact that you can chose on their website exactly what you do and don't like, and you can ask them to send things sooner. I adore the Pistachio nuts and all the dried fruit and the flapjack. All of their ingredients are natural and I love how the box tells you exactly how many calories are in each compartment. These boxes are really the highlight of my Friday!

Maybelline Colour Sensational 422 Coral Tonic Lipstick

I have no money but when I was mooching around town the other day I nipped into Superdrug and found a lovely Maybelline offer. ANY TWO MAYBELLINE ITEMS FOR £10. I almost wet myself to be honest. I chose a lipstick and another 10 hour lip tint/gloss as they are my fave.

The lipstick I got was Colour Sensational 422 - Coral Tonic. This is a lovely orangey pink colour (sorry my photos are awful at showing this colour to it's fullest potential). I have never bought a colour like this before so I thought I'd give it a try and I absolutely love it. In darker lights, the lipstick is a pinky colour and in the light it's a lovely orange colour. It goes on smoothly, and has quite a matte effect on the lips. It lasted a full day of University without me having to top it up so for me this is a wonderful buy!

Lilac Hair - Directions Hair Dye Review

About a year ago I got extremely bored of being blonde. Everyone I knew were dying their hair crazy colours and I just needed a change. After scouring the internet for a while and stalking some of my favourite Tumblr's I decided on dying my hair Lilac.

The dye took about 20 minutes to take to my hair. It took really well but I think it's probably because my hair was practically white at the time. Any colour darker than blonde wouldn't be able to dye their hair with this specific dye. It came out a bright light purple which is just what I wanted.

The hair dye obviously isn't permanent and states it will last about 6-12 weeks. For me, this was not the case. As much as I loved the colour, sadly it faded after 5 washes. I literally had the colour on my head for just over a week before it turned to a dim grey colour - never a good look. Looking back on it now I wish I'd just topped up the colour again because it really was lovely, just a bit of a pain in the ass to keep up with.

My Makeup Box & Faves

Above is my absolute pride and joy. My favourite thing in the world is makeup. I'm a definite makeup hoarder. Always trying to find the best brands and cheapest deals. I absolutely love it.

So this is a post about my beautiful box and my favourite and most used makeup products!

I'll start firstly with my guilty pleasures - my lipsticks. As you may be able to tell I have quite a few. All different brands and types. Mostly in red or dark colours. Below are my three favourites.

Disney Mac Lipstick "Amplified Heartless" - Kate Moss "04" -  Pink Primark Lipstick
The Disney Mac Lipstick is definitely my most used lipstick of all time. I originally saw the lipstick on Tumblr a year or two back and I just thought the idea of Disney Villian lipsticks was fantastic. Then on my 19th birthday a package arrived at my door from my best friend! Inside was this beautiful lipstick and a cute little mirror. I was absolutely in love with it the moment I put it on my lips. It is the perfect shade of red. Not too dark, not too light and looks brilliant with a light skin tone. As you can tell I have used this lipstick a million times since I first got it and I'm starting to run out!

The Kate Moss Lipstick is something I wear when I'm going out into town. It's very, very dark purple. Almost black if applied in many layers. It's quite a shocking colour which is why it is reserved for nights out only. I got this from Super Drug for about £5. Kate Moss' range of lipsticks is brilliant and I know a lot of my friends wear them religiously.

Lastly and probably my most favouritest and unexpected amazing-ness is the Pink Primark Lipstick. I bought this on a whim when I was stood in the queue in Primark. As it was only a pound and I have an uncontrollable obsession I picked it up and thought even if it was rubbish it's okay because it's a pound. Now let me tell you - this lipstick is fantastic. It's a bright pink colour, which isn't usually what I go for but for some reason IT JUST WORKS. It stays on all day and it's such a good colour. Honestly it rivals my Topshop lipsticks for definite. It's fantastic for £1.

Apart from the lipsticks I'm also a sucker for Lip Tints and Lip-gloss. My favourite Lip Tints are from Max Factor but after having a shop around I found a much cheaper version by Collection 2000 which does exactly the same job and looks just as good at half the price.

The Super Stay 10 Hour Tint Gloss is absolutely brill. It's a lovely colour of red and really does stay on for hours on end.

I only buy black mascara and I have A LOT of differrent types but these are my two favourites. Both in the shade of black, I constantly wear Big Fake from Collection 2000 (costs around £4 - £7) and Bourjouis Volume Clubbing Mascara (£8). I would recommend these two for any body that likes to have their eye lashes look fake. I'm talking big and beautiful lashes that are thick and fantastic to flutter.

Dream Matte Mousse "Light Porcelain" - Natural Collection Powder "Cool" - Maybelline Cover Stick "Ivory"
For my daily face I use these products. Dream Matte Mousse in "Light Porcelain", Natural Collection Powder in "Cool" and Maybelline New York Cover Stick in "Ivory".

I have extremely pale skin (think vampire skin and then make it 5x lighter in your head) because I have extremely bad anaemia and Vitamin D deficiency causing my skin to be lighter than most peoples. So if you have light skin then I would recommend these colours to you. And if not, these brands are brilliant if you have normal - dry skin.

Eyeliners are pretty much an essential for me. I could happily leave the house without makeup but I'd have to be wearing some form of eyeliner. These are my faves. The Ink Pot is fantastic and once you get used to it, is very easy to apply. This is very dark makeup and extremely dramatic if applied correctly.

The Fast Stroke Eyeliner from Collection 2000 I think most people own. It's brilliant and would recommend this for daily use.

The Extreme Eyeliner is also from Collection 2000. I found this gem a few months back when shopping with my Aunty. I've always wanted to try a pen eyeliner and this one was definitely the cheapest one I could find. Very easy to apply and perfect for daily use.

Miss Sporty Ohh Blushed Again "003 Sienna" - Standard Eye Palette from H & M
I got the Eye Palette from H & M for about £4. The eye shadows are very shimmery but are pretty good for nights out. I don't tend to wear a lot of eye shadow which is why this is like the only eye palette I have.

The Blush was only a few pounds from Super Drug I think and it's the best and most natural cheek colour I have come across in a while. Looks great on pale skin.

And lastly...

It is an essential to have a good moisturiser. Nivea Creme I'm sure is everybody's life-saver. I know many times when I've woke up with those AWFUL red blotches on my face and Nivea has absolutely saved the day and made it easier to apply my foundation. I always apply Nivea Creme, let it dry for a few minutes then apply foundation for a perfect covering.

Jergens Moisturiser I bought in America. I am not actually sure if you can buy it in England to be honest, and I can't be bothered looking into it. But if you need a deep moisturising creme then I would definitely recommend this one!

xoxo

A Blog On Bras

I'm really writing this for all the girls out there and I just need to know your opinions and knowledge and stuff. Not long ago (maybe half a year ago) my mother made me get measured in M & S for new bras as I'd been wearing a 32C for years and years and they were extremely uncomfortable. Now I'm not going to publish how big they actually are now just purely because I have friends and family that may read this and I feel that my bra size doesn't need to be talked about. What I did want to speak about is the problems I have had trying to find a fitting, comfortable and well stylish bra since I've been measured.

The thing is with being measured is they sort of give you two possible sizes. They started me off on a D and they kept making me try on bigger cup sizes and as you all know as a girl, bigger bras well...they tend to be...well horrible. I'm talking grey-ish/white floral, flat and no underwire. Then it wasn't the cup size, it was the back size that was wrong. And eventually they found two actually three sizes that would fit me. What annoys me is that I can't get a good bra without it costing me like £40. I personally don't think I have massive boobs but for my size and height I guess it is. Which makes it difficult to find something to fit. If I wear anything a tiny bit too small the back of the bra digs into me and I always have to take it off (no matter where I am!) and I'm down to one bra that actually properly fits me now at the back but it's a cup size too small.

What I really want is to know if anybody else has had this problem? Is it just me and my weird body or do other people find that their bra size is either completely wrong or completely unknown?! No matter what your size I just want to feel like I am not alone in this! And also if you know anywhere that I can get nice bras that don't cost me loads of money?!

I just need some help ladies!

Blonde On A Budget

So obviously I have very blonde hair, but I wasn't always this blonde. My natural hair colour is almost black and I get a lot of questions on my Tumblr asking how I managed to change my hair without completely ruining it. I've been pretty much every single colour of blonde you could possibly go, so if your interested in going blonde then I'm the girl to ask!

(Please excuse the awful webcam photos)

This is a more recent picture of me with dark hair but I wanted to give you some idea of how dark my natural hair actually is and was at the time of bleaching and dying. I started off by getting my friend to bleach my hair withB Blonde Hair Lightener which you can get pretty much everywhere (Superdrug, Boots, Body Care, Asda), this is just a box full of blue bleaching crystals and it's 4 packets which is probably enough for a full head of shoulder length hair - any longer or thicker and I'd advise to get two boxes. I also used B Blonde Creme Peroxide. You can use absolutely any kind of peroxide or even use developer which you can buy at any good drug stores or Sally's Hair & Beauty for about £3 at the most.  If you have super dark hair like mine then use 9% but for lighter hair use 12%. I left the bleach on for an hour at first and washed it off which turned my hair into a dark yellowy colour. I added a handful of conditioner and left on for 20 minutes. After I'd washed that off, I dried my hair and added another layer of bleach. After about half an hour I'd got to the colour below which was perfect at the time and I was happy to say I was a blonde. My hair was completely fine and felt even healthier because of all the conditioner. After a few months I decided I want white blonde hair which to be honest was not hard to get.

Now there are two ways you can do this. Either in stages using a purple shampoo, or using a white colour toner for instant effect (but possibly a bit more damage). I have used both methods.

A touch of Silver shampoo is a purple shampoo which goes onto blonde hair and evens out the tones. The more you use it the blonder you become and eventually can go white blonde or silver (depending on how often you use it). At the moment I am using this for my honey blonde hair and I use it twice a week as my hair especially around my roots tends to get a bit gingery. This wonderful product is around £3 also and can be used as often as you want. It genuinely does work and the first time I used it I just couldn't believe the difference it made in my hair.

There are many other variations of this shampoo. I just find this to be the cheapest. When I first bleached my hair I used a purple shampoo from Sally's Hair & Beauty called Sensories but it was a bit too expensive and although it worked, I never bought it again because there definitely are cheaper variants on the market which work just as good, if not better.

Another way of making your hair white, and this I must say is a quicker way of doing it, is by using a white toner. I have found the best to be Directions White Toner which comes in a purpley colour but it is absolutely fantastic. It's £3 or £4 and you can get it from places like the market or beauty stores. Even some piercing stores sell this beaut.

This is one of those items that feel like a complete life saver when it comes to white hair. You put it on like a shampoo and leave it for a few minutes. Wash it off and it completely evens out the tone. The longer you leave it on the more it will tone and the whiter it will become. I know there are a few different types of white toner out there on the marker but this one for me is absolutely perfect. Now at the moment I am not using this toner because my hair is a sort of honey blonde, but when I was white blonde this product was used at least once a week. (Please remember this is a hair dye and over use can break your hair).

This photo is of me when I had white blonde hair (and blue - sorry about that I couldn't find a photo of just the blonde). It took a lot of patience to get it this blonde and a lot of conditioning happened daily on my head because I was aware of how much it could break my hair.

There are a lot of products on the market though that are great at adding moisture to your hair - I tend to use a lot of Aussie products for my hair as I find they smell the best and feel lovely. But there is also the John Frieda range if you want shampoo and conditioner specifically for blondes. The secret to blonde hair is keeping it healthy and conditioned. Otherwise it will become brittle and fall out. Bear in mind that these products can be cheap if you look in the right place. I would say no more than £5 for a shampoo/conditioner which is perfect when you are on a budget all the time like I am.

I now have a honey blonde hair which I love, to be honest it's a lot less work than white blonde but I guess it all depends on your preference. I love being blonde and would recommend it to anyone, I've been blonde on and off for 3 or 4 years now and blondes definitely do have more fun!

So if you're blonde leave me a message with your fave products or how you became blonde! Tips and tricks are always useful!

Top Shop Accessories Picks

Now I am absolutely awful at accessorising my outfits. I tend to keep everything quite minimalistic. Anyway, today I was in Top Shop in town snooping around the accessories sections when a few things caught my eye that I absolutely loved and will buy as soon as I get my student loan.
Spike Cluster Headband £12.50

Flower Ear Cuff £8.50

Spiky Box Bracelet £10
Filigree Cross Earrings £8

Metallic Snake Satchel £28

Hopefully I'll be able to snap these up in a few weeks, I love the whole Gothicy style that's going on in most shops at the moment and I really feel these items are very...well me.

Shoes Glorious Shoes

I've been a bit stuck at the moment with everything going on at home and I've had no idea what to write or blog about for a good few days. So after much consideration and frankly - boredom - I thought I'd just show off my favourite things in the world! My shoes.

I pretty much only wear Dr Marten. This applies to if I'm going out just to the shop or on a night out. I find that Doc's go with absolutely anything and are also comfy as hell.

I own 4 pairs of Dr Martens at the moment. Black Heeled Darcie Boot, Black Serena Boot, Turquoise & Blue 1460 Boot and Brown Serena Boot. I went through a phase of being obsessed with the Serena Boots which is why I have two pairs. The idea of a proper boot with that lovely fluffy inside still makes my feet cry with joy and they are absolutely perfect for winter. I bought the brown pair first when I moved to Leeds with my Student Finance (wise move) and then for Christmas my wonderful boyfriend bought me the black pair. The heeled Darcie boot was my first ever Doc Marten purchase which I got from EBAY brand new for £30 - god I was pleased. And then after that I bought the blue and white pair. That was almost 2 years ago and my boots are still going strong. I absolutely adore Dr Marten, if I could have a wardrobe full of boots I probably would.

This is the extent of my shoe/boot collection. As you can see there's all my Docs. Then I have a fair of (fake) creepers which I bought from EBAY for about £12.

Please excuse the state of these shoes. They have been completely overworn and I am due a new pair. I really wanted a pair of Underground Creepers but my bank balance would never allow it. But these bad boys that I found online where perfect. A complete rip-off of the Underground Creepers but still perfect. They felt and looked exactly the same as a real pair (well when they were new they did, now they look awful) so I would definitely recommend a cheap pair from EBAY if you want a pair but cannot afford the price tag for real Creepers.

I am not at all embarrassed to say I am a shoe knock off fan. And when the Jeffrey Campbell Lita's appeared all over the internet I just HAD to bag myself a pair. But once again, I was skint and desperate. I honestly don't know how some of you guys afford the shoes and clothes you buy - please tell me your secrets! I bought these beauts from boohoo.com. Now normally I don't buy from boohoo, I find their clothes to be cheap and of cheap quality. Although I guess you get what you pay for, so when I ordered these I was abit scared and sceptical of the quality. Fortuantely when they arrived my eyes almost popped out of my head at how perfect they are. They make me at least 5/6 inches taller which is perfect because of my short height. And they are ridiculously comfy. I would definitely buy another pair if I had the money. Knock Offs are always great, don't you think?

Please ignore this I just need to get it out.

This is not a usual post for me. And I won't post anything more on this. But I just need to write.

This is really hard to write and I don't know why I am writing it on here but I am doing so just bare with me or skip past it, ignore it. Please.
We received a phone call about an hour ago from the hospital which my Nana is currently residing in. She now has terminal cancer / secondary cancer. She has a few months to live.

I can't cope. I can't even make myself cry. I feel empty and numb and alone. I want to be there for my family, especially my mum who has been in hysterics since the call but I just can't. I just keep thinking about when my Grandma died when I was younger and how awful that was and how awful it will be without two grandparents and I just don't know what to think.

I've seen my Nana get ill and go from a size 16 to a size 6 in less than a year. I've seen her deteriorate and then I've witnessed her getting better - slowly but surely. God knows last night when I went to visit her in hospital and she was laughing about how high she'd been on Morphine and how she was shouting at my Grandad for doing silly things and well she was just acting more like my Nana. And now this. This bomb-shell. We knew she was dying but then were convinced she was getting better and now she literally is dying and there is nothing nobody can do about it. Chemo isn't even going to work anymore so it's just a waiting game now.

I feel like...well I don't know how I feel. Just empty. I want to see her so badly but I know I'm not allowed right now. It's so hard because I just want to hug her and tell her how strong I think she is and how much I look up to her.

She'll be going into a Hospice for the last few months. I just hope and I really do hope with all my heart that her last few months are comfortable and enjoyable.

God knows after everything she has been through, she needs it.

Nailene Acrylic Sculpture Kit

So yesterday I bought this beauty. I've always worn glue on nails but have never been able to afford to go to a salon and get Acrylic Nails done. When I saw this yesterday in ASDA at the grand price of £10, well how could I resist?

Excuse the awful webcam quality of the picture above but I must say my nails look fabulous. They feel strong and sturdy exactly like real Acrylic Nails. My hands feel so pretty! I will definitely keep buying this kit to do my nails as I am just so happy with them! They were easy to apply but took around an hour to get them right. The only con I have is that the Acrylic completely stunk out my bedroom which made my Dad go skitzo but never mind.

I really do recommend this if you want cheap Acrylic Nails. And how can you resist at such a cheap price?

Below is a video I found on YOUTUBE that helped me apply the nails.

Motel Rocks - literally. It rocks.

So before I get onto what I wanted to post - great news!! I am now an official member of the MOTEL ROCKS STREET TEAM!

Which means if you buy anything from Motel Rocks and you put in my username MINICHIMP2001 as the discount code then you can get 20% off your order! Brilliant. So I suggest you get shopping!

So anyways, I've been scouring Motel Rocks for the last few days. I need an outfit to wear for my boyfriend's 21st party. Below are a few of the things I am considering!

Bryony Dip Hem Strappy Dress in Dip Dye Navy   £35.00
I think this dress is beautiful and it could be worn as casual and dressy. It would be great for a house party for definite and it could be spiced up with heels and loads of silver jewellery if I were to go out into town in it. If I were to wear this casually I'd wear it with Doc Marten boots and a leather jacket. Perfect.

Chinara Strapless Fishtail Dress in Mystic Rose Print £48
I love these kind of dresses so much. It's pretty much perfect for the party, the only problem is that I wouldn't know when else to wear it. It is so gorgeous though.

Soheila Skater Dress in Natural Leopard Print £42

I absolutely adore this dress and is probably what I am going to choose. I am such a sucker for anything leopard print (half of my wardrobe has some form of animal print on it!) and this dress would go perfect with anything and could easily be dressed up or down. I'd love to see this with my heeled Doc Martens.

Well these are the three I've whittled it down to. I love them all so much, it hurts to have to choose! DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!

I suggest you check out Motel Rocks too and get 20% off, shopping always makes a girl happy!
