Toni & Guy Glamour Volume Plumping Whip

Anything that claims to make my hair look more voluminous and glamorous is a complete must for me, I've lived with flat hair my whole entire life and there aren't many products that I own that can plump up my hair like they promise to. I live in a world of rubbish hair.

Toni & Guy are one of those brands that I've never really tried, I guess for a cheapo student like me their products are in the higher end that I just haven't ever been able to afford. That's why when I received it in my Beauty Box I was extremely excited to try it out and find out whether this could be the miracle hair product I've always wanted (and needed).

The Glamour Volume Plumping Whip promises all-day body and bounce from the roots, without fly-aways. You apply this creamy whip to the roots of your freshly washed hair, massaging to get at every strand and then use a hair dryer (and if your fancy, a barrel brush - if you're not fancy...flip your hair over, it gives the same effect). Once dry your left with bigger, bouncier hair! Supposedly.

I tried both with a barrel brush and with the hair flip technique and my hair managed to stay bouncy for a few hours but that's about it. I'm not sure if it's my hair or what, but I found I had to backcomb to get the look to stay in and then after a bit my roots seemed to get quite greasy and my whole hair style looked like it was being weighed down. Not attractive. It is possible I've been using too much product so I will keep attempting to use this every time I wash my hair but at the moment it isn't giving me the required results that I was expecting.

This isn't something I'd spend my hard earned cash on but it's great that I received it as part of a Beauty Box for cheap. Normally this product is around £8 or £9 and can be even more expensive if you're buying from a hair salon.

Nivea Pure & Natural Cleansing Toner And Lotion

I'm not going to sit back here and lie to you about how I always cleanse and tone my face after wearing makeup all day. I'm a lazy person and my skin routine has been basically none existent, I'm a face-wipe kind of girl through and through. Unfortunately during this ridiculous heatwave we've been having in the UK, I've found that my makeup has been clogging up my pours and that normal face-wiping action just hasn't been cutting it. Not only that but I've read a few posts recently online that have made a lot warier of what products I put on my skin, clearly I needed to make a change in my skin routine and that change started with Nivea's Pure & Natural Cleansing Toner and Lotion.

I picked these products up around two weeks ago in Superdrug. I couldn't decide which brand to go with, all I knew is that I wanted something light and natural. That's when I saw that Nivea products were on "better than half price" sale - both were only £1.66 each. You know I'm a sucker for a bargain so I snatched these up and into my ever-growing shopping basket.

Skin Care Expertise Meets Nature
Nivea state that their experts have combined 100 years of skin research with effective ingredients from nature. Both the toner and the lotion contain Bio Argan Oil and Bio Aloe Vera, two key ingredients that help to gently cleanse and revitalise your skin whilst supporting your skin's natural balance. 95% of the ingredients are of natural origin which makes both of these products extremely great for your skin without all the manufactured nastiness that some lotions contain.

I love the packaging for these products. Plain, simple and very white. With a flip lid at the top that makes it easy to dispense the products and helps you get just the right amount of product. The application process is the same as most, if not all cleaners/toners. Apply daily with cotton wool to your face and neck and wipe until your face is clean. I am really enjoying using both the cleanser and the toner. They are both extremely gentle on my skin and really does the job of getting rid of my sweaty gross makeup after a day in the sun effectively. They aren't drying and they don't make my skin feel tight, they just make my skin breathe and feel fresh! They both have a lovely fragrance which I am told is different from the standard fragrance for Nivea products, it's extremely light and smells so pretty. I really love the scent!

You can get the Nivea Pure & Natural range from any Boots, Superdrug or supermarket for extremely cheap. I would really recommend these products to anyone with sensitive skin or for those who don't want to break the bank!

Latest In Beauty - Glamour Beauty Box - First Impressions

I feel like the whole wide world and his wife now own this beauty box, but I'm going to write this post any way. Latest In Beauty joined forces with Glamour Magazine to create a product packed box that is absolutely perfect for the summer months. It's only £16.95 and has over £85 worth of products in it, plus a world exclusive - one of Illamasqua's Nude Glamore Lipsticks. The lipstick was the reason I was so desperate for this box if I'm honest and the other products were just a massive plus!

Firstly the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. The box is white and neon pink which I found to be so incredibly girly and very eye catching. And as you can see from the above photographs, once I opened it I found it was filled to the top with amazing, full sized products. I know that a lot of people complain with beauty boxes that they only get small sized samples but almost everything in this box was full sized.

I was incredibly excited to try out all of the products straight away but I managed to refrain from going too crazy. I still haven't even opened a few of the goodies inside, I'm waiting til I really need to use them! I will probably do a review on most of these products some time in the future, but for now I just thought I'd let you check out what I received!

As you can see there are some absolutely amazing products here! I'm really looking forward to trying the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil because I've heard so many great things, I also love the Magnifibres and the Illamasqua lippie - they've become staples in my routine at the moment.

Overall I would say that this box is an absolute bargain! All these products for next to nothing! It's fantastic value for money and you really do get a little bit of everything.

I ❤ Makeup - I Want Candy in Love

Another I ❤ Makeup purchase. This time a gorgeous blush in the shade Love. I have to admit that I'm not really a blusher sort of girl. It's something that I'll shove on my face as an afterthought if I'm going on a night out but I don't really own too many nor do I care to. I decided to try this blush because I've read so many great things about the blushes from I ❤ Makeup and I'm so glad I did. Never before have I seen such a gorgeous colour that just looks so good on!

Firstly I absolutely love the design. How pretty is the love heart in the middle of the blush?! It's just so incredibly girly! Love, love it! The colour is a sort of pinky-peach kind of shade that has a slight shimmer to it which reflects in the light. It makes my cheeks look warm, is that a strange thing to say? It just does. It's lovely, it makes my face look more alive. I keep catching myself in the mirror with this on and I have to say that I'm absolutely in love with this blush.

I guess that's why the shade colour is "Love" - because you just cannot help but adore it. The packaging is also perfect, it's a small compact tub that can easily be popped into your handbag for on the go gorgeousness!

You can grab this blush online at Makeup Revolution for only £2.99

I ❤ Makeup - I Heart My Lips in Beating Heart

I know what you're thinking. Another I ❤ Makeup post, blushing about how much I really do love makeup and Makeup Revolution. Yes, you are correct. I'm sorry (I'm not), but I know what I like and when I like something I want to share it with the whole god damn world and for me, you lot are my whole world. So, let's begin.

This time I'm reviewing I ❤ Makeup's I Heart My Lips lipstick in the shade Beating Heart. Firstly, JUST LOOK AT THIS LIPSTICK. IT'S IN THE SHAPE OF AN ACTUAL HEART. Aren't you amazed? The I  ❤ Makeup team have utilised ‘core’ technology to create this product. It has a Matt/Satin Outer with a Shimmery core. Once applied it blends together to create a gorgeous, heavenly lip look.

The colour is very pink and very shimmery, it truly is a gorgeous summer shade that would look perfect with almost every look. The formula is also top-notch. It's extremely moisturising and glides fantasticly on the lips. There is no need to apply more than one layer as it's so pigmented and it lasts such a long time once on the lips. I've worn this all day (6-8 hours) without having to reapply which just shows how amazing the staying power really is for this lipstick. The I ❤ Makeup team have really created something special here.

This lipstick is only £2.49 from the Makeup Revolution website, I've said it before and I'll happily say it again, this is an absolute bargain. One that you should definitely go out and buy!

"Full Time Fashion Blogger" Outfit Wishlist

CHANEL NOUVELLE VAUGE NAIL POLISH

Oh hell, I need the "full time fashion blogger" sweatshirt more than I have ever needed anything in my life. How cute! I'm not even a fashion blogger but I still need it. NEED. I have also based this whole outfit wishlist on the need for the sweatshirt, as you can probably tell. I am completely in love with Topshop's Joni jeans at the moment, yesterday I saw a girl in town wearing the ripped version and I fell in love. I think they would look good with practically any outfit.

Don't forget that you can get 20% off any MOTEL purchases by using the code MINICHIMP2001 at the checkout.

Life Through My Phone - Blaaah

I would say that it's been an insanely quiet few weeks. Since I got back from holiday I've barely done anything but mope around in my room and order makeup from the internet. This is not a healthy lifestyle. I've been spending my weekends working so I've only seen my friends once or twice which is so depressing and I really, really cannot wait for them to finish work for the summer. 6 weeks of girly time is much needed. I'm also missing pub quiz, I haven't been in over a month! I love pub quiz and it's where I belong!

I've changed my hair at least three times in the last two weeks! I'm glad it finally looks - sort of - pretty. That's all thanks to Chill* hair stains. I feel like a walking advertisement for the moment, every change that's happened to my hair recently has been because of them and I've not been afraid to tell everyone how much I love their hair stains.

I'm also really missing my bestie westie Tina. She's off gallivanting in Greece and enjoying herself for at least another 4 weeks. Lucky for some eh?! We've all got to the point where we are pretending she's with us by writing her name on paper and putting a glass of wine infront of it. She's here in spirit!
For more photos please make sure that you follow my Instagram! I absolutely love to follow people on Instagram and am extremely likely to follow back, so please go check it out.
Hope you're all well.

Makeup Revolution Lipsticks - Twist & 100% Vamp

Lipsticks...you can just never have too many, can you? Maybe. I am addicted. I've said it 100 times, but I just love lipsticks. They are my favourite, your face just isn't ready without a lipstick. That's my motto and I'm sticking to it. I recently added another two to my ever growing collection. Both from Makeup Revolution because...well...why not? You can't go wrong with £1 lipsticks, especially when they are just so friggin good.

The lipstick above is Twist. It's a gorgeous light red colour that sort of reminds me of Marilyn Monroe and Hollywood glamour. The formula is fantastic and creamy like with all Makeup Revolution lipsticks. You can just swipe it on and go. It has amazing staying power and usually lasts a good few hours before I have to touch my lipstick up!

Look at that swatch! It's so pretty! Next onto 100% Vamp. This lipstick is apart of the Vamp collection and is a very deep purple colour, that almost looks black. It's a really intense shade, one that I'm not sure how I will wear. Or when for that matter. It almost looks black once applied onto the lips which shows just how pigmented it is. It has the same fantastic formula that Makeup Revolution is known for, it's moisturising and is the sort of colour that really stands out from the crowd.

I'm really not sure I'm goth enough for this lipstick but I'll definitely give it a go on a night out. I've been wearing it around my house and I've got some strange looks from my brother. He keeps asking if I'm going through a phase!

I ❤ Makeup - Lip Geek in "I Worked For It"

I ordered a few bits and bobs from the Makeup Revolution website the other day because I adore their products and their prices are so amazing! Among many different products I picked up an I Heart (Love?) Makeup - Lip Geek lipstick in the shade I Worked For It.

I hope I am right in thinking that I Heart (Love) Makeup is one of Makeup Revolution's sister brands. Though right now I can't actually find any information about the brand itself, you can buy all their products on the Makeup Revolution website.

The lipstick comes in such cute packaging. It's a bright pink bullet which looks so pretty and stands out in my lipstick collection. The bullet sort of looks a bit like a MAC lipstick bullet except it's a tiny bit bigger. The shade I Worked For It is a lovely deep red colour that would be perfect to wear on a night out or during the Autumn/Winter months. It is also super pigmented and only needs one swipe to cover the whole lip perfectly. The formula is extremely creamy and really glides onto the lips, though I have noticed that it does feather a little bit if you put too much on. It's one of those lipsticks that you need to keep checking on just incase it's wiped off, but I don't necessarily think that is such a bad thing - it just proves that it has a super creamy formula.

I really like this lipstick, it's a gorgeous shade and it was an absolute steal at only £2.99. You can't really complain at that price now can you? I've seen so many great things about I Heart (Love?) Makeup recently on blogs so I urge you to check their products out now especially if they are all this sort of quality. I'm really digging these budget makeup brands that are gracing the internet right now, there is just no need to spend a ridiculous amount of money on lipstick when you can get something this good for this cheap.

I Did Another Hair Thing...

I realise that a few days ago I wrote about my ombre orange hair, but unfortunately I was slightly over-aggressive with my hair washing this week due to the heat and how sweaty and gross long hair gets in this weather. So in my complete and utter boredom this afternoon I decided to whip out my "Berry" hair stain from Chill* and dye the ends of my hair neon pink. These things happen. Roll with it.

I am actually IN LOVE with my hair, IN LOVE. I cannot begin to express my love for Chill* hair stains and I seriously urge you to check out their dye range because the shades are amazing and the pigmentation is top notch.

Fun With Lisforladybird!

If you follow me on facebook, twitter or instagram you will know that I've spent the last 24 hours with the gorgeous beauty blogger Laura from Lisforladybird! I've known Laura now for just over a year and we met through blogging, we started off by commenting on each-others profiles and now we are at the point where we stop at each-others houses and text eachother all the time, in the last year we have become proper blogger besties and yes...this is so cute!

Last night I took her out around my local town (yes on a Wednesday, wow I'm a bad influence!) and got her quite drunk along with a few of my friends! We had such a good laugh and it was so nice to have her meet some of my pals. Then today we have been to "the best pet shop in the world" to look at the kittens and meercats, then into town for a spot of sale shopping. In our last hour or so together we spent our time at the amusements playing stupid games and taking silly photos in the photobooth. It was an adorable day and I was sad to see her leave.

I really wanted to write this blog post to say how lucky I am that blogging has opened these doors of friendships up for me. Laura has become such a good friend to me and I've also met some amazing girls online through Twitter and blogging that have become staples in my life. I don't go a day without talking to these ladies and I'm so glad these people are all in my life! Blogging friends are the best.

Wella Professionals Brilliance Mask

The one thing that I am proud about with my hair is how soft it always is. I am obsessed with taking care of my hair and I spend so, so much money on hair masks it's actually ridiculous. Recently I went to watch one of my gorgeous friends in a fashion show and whilst at that fashion show we received little goodie bags with loads of hair and beauty products in! Score!

One of those hair products was a Wella Professionals Brilliance Mask which I instantly went home and shoved all over my hair. As you can see from the photographs it comes in a lovely little red pot which looks so pretty next to all my other hair products in my room. This particular mask is for fine to normal hair but I believe you can get it for different hair types which is great and shows that Wella have a good range of products that cater to all hair types.

As with most hair masks you are directed to leave the product on your hair for around 5 minutes. I always, always leave it on for longer because usually I'm in the bath and I'm reading so I get carried away with my book and forget to wash it off. This time I think I left it on for around half an hour (whoops) but it isn't like it's going to do any damage, in fact I think it may of really helped my hair.

The mask feels a lot like a thick conditioner which if you are a frequent mask user like myself, you will know that this is the way that most hair masks tend to feel. It does just look and smell like a typical hair mask. Once I'd finally washed it off and dried my hair I found that my hair felt so soft and in such good condition. I also noticed that it seemed lift my hair up from my roots making it look fuller and thicker. I absolutely loved this hair mask and would 100% invest in more of the Wella Professionals range.

Orange Ombre Hair

Look what I did to my hair! Orange/ginger ombre! I'm not sure if you can fully 100% see the gradual change in colour from these photographs but basically I used Chill*ed stains in orange and dyed the ends then pulled a comb through my hair with dye on it to create the ombre effect! It looks so cute and everyone knows how much I wish I had naturally ginger hair.

Well that was a short but sweet blog post!
