Taking A Short Blogging Break!

Dear ladies and gents of the blogging world. I am writing to tell you that I am taking a short break from blogging. It is the end of my University year and deadlines are fast approaching. Since I've spent a lot of time being sad and trapped in my room these last few months I am very behind on work so I need to take a month or so to get everything sorted and handed in. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long, but I thought I'd let everyone know what's going on.

See you after deadline day! x

Today is mine and Kieron's third anniversary! This boy has made me so happy for three whole years and each day he makes me even happier. I've never loved someone so much in my entire life and even after all this time he still gives me butterflies in my stomach. He is my best friend, boyfriend and he means literally everything to me.
I love you KD.

Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Crush

I have become utterly obsessed with painting my nails recently, and with this obsession I have also been getting addicted to buying Barry M nail varnishes because let's be honest; they're friggin perfect in every way.

Today I've gone for Barry M's Matte Nail Paint in Crush. Before I start I just want to tell you how bloody awful I am at putting on nail varnish, I'm like a blind person. Nail varnish everywhere. Bare that in mind when you see my nail swatch.

Crush is a gorgeous dark berry colour, almost sort of like a dried blood colour - wonderful for my inner goth! The formula is thick and glides onto the nail wonderfully. They don't take long at all to dry either which is a mega plus and I absolutely adore the matte effect. It looks extremely classy and lady-like. I really, really love this colour. It is now one of my favourite nail varnishes and I can see myself wearing it all the time!

I'd like to try some more matte nail polishes, I just think they look so much better than the standard shiny ones. Over all this is a big thumbs up (nails up!?) from me and I urge you to go out and try Barry M's matte polishes.

£3.99 at Superdrug or Boots.

Three Months In - Instagram Post

You may have noticed that my posts have become far and few between. I'm very sorry about this and I am trying to get myself back on track, but obviously with so much happening right now in my life I've been finding it very hard to find some time to blog. I haven't really been coping well with life at the moment and have spent a long time festering over my guilt and feelings in my bedroom. A lot of my time has been spent ignoring people's texts and calls and trying to get life back to normal. I want to take the time to apologise to my blogging ladies which I have neglected recently - please bare with me. I'd also like to say thankyou to my very bestest friends for being there over these last few weeks and making me go out - without them I'd be a mess, dying in my bedroom.

So that being said, I thought I'd do a bit of a catch up post with Instagram photos as we are now three months into the year (can you believe it!?) and I've not done an Instagram post in such a long time!

It would be a lie to say that these last few months have been awful. They haven't - one very sad thing has ruined the beginning of this year for me but overall I've had a good time. I guess I just need to keep reminding myself that life isn't all that bad and that I've enjoyed myself as well this year. Plus I have tons and tons of exciting things to look forward to like finishing my 2nd year of Uni and moving in with two of my bestestestest friends ever!

Selling Jeffrey Campbell Clarkson Boots Size 4 - Ebay

I have decided to sell my lovely Jeffrey Campbell Clarkson boots - I've worn them once and they've been sat in my wardrobe since October so I thought it would only be fair that they go to a better home. Unfortunately these have always been a tiny bit too big for me and because of that I've found them difficult to wear! They were originally bought for £160 so I've put them on Ebay with a starting price of £7.50 (P&P £10.50). I no longer have the original box for them, it's gone missing somewhere along the way so you won't receive that but the boots are in extremely good condition! They are a size 4 but like I said, they are quite big so would definitely fit a size 5!

NYX Powder Blush - Peach

Ohh so pretty. Another one of my NYX goodies - this time a gorgeous Peach powder blush! I've bought all of my recent NYX products from www.motelrocks.com and you can too by using the code MINICHIMP2001 at the checkout to get 20% off - bargains all around.

I love this blush though Peach is not how I would describe it. It's actually more of a pinky colour but thankfully I really like it and if it really was a peach colour I probably would look a bit too washed out. It's definitely more of a cool baby pink! The powder leaves a satin finish on the skin, it's so pretty and gives the skin a bit of a healthy glow and looks very natural. It's formula is also really smooth and pigmented, it's very easy to blend as well which makes this blush a great all rounder.

I'm really impressed with all of the NYX products I've bought recently, up until a few days ago I'd never really tried any of their products but I'm so glad that I did! They are really such a great brand and I think that you should definitely try them out. Hopefully you will like their products just as much as I do.

NYX Matte Lipsticks - Nude, Shocking Pink & Indie Flick

Good afternoon ladies and gents! What a lovely day it's been - a lovely day that I have spent moping around in my room. Typical. Today I am going to be reviewing three of the new NYX Matte Lipsticks; Nude, Shocking Pink and Indie Flick. I managed to get these from www.motelrocks.com and if you wanted to invest in these or any other NYX products feel free to use the code MINICHIMP2001 at the checkout to get 20% off your order!

Okay, enough shameless plugging! Now onto the review, but where do I start? Well, these lipsticks are my new current favourites (I know, I know, everything is my new favourite!) Each of these lipsticks are extremely beautiful and very pigmented. They have quite a thick formula but don't let this put you off - I know that thick formula tends to mean drying but I've found that these lipsticks are very moisturising! Their staying power is also pretty wonderful. I wore the "shocking pink" one on a night out and it stayed on all night without having to be touched up! I'll put a photo of me wearing it during my night out after four hours further down.

Nude is a gorgeous but extremely pale pink colour. It would nice on tanned skintones but at the moment when I wear it I feel a bit like the colour makes me look even paler than I already am (Caspar The Friendly Ghost pale). My favourite is definitely Shocking Pink which is a very bright fuchsia colour. It's super, super pigmented and in my opinion looks the best, although I think you'd have to be feeling particularly daring to wear it on a normal day. Lastly is Indie Flick which is a bright coral-red colour. I think that Indie Flick would suit pretty much everyone, is such a lovely colour to wear and goes with most outfits. All three are fantastic though and I urge you to check out NYX's matte lipstick range.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint In Green Berry

I'm on a bit of a light green kick at the moment and literally everything I've bought recently has been this gorgeous colour. I am obsessed! I don't usually do anything with my nails but I thought as a treat I would buy myself some glue on nails and some new varnishes! That's when I picked up Barry M's "Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint" in Green Berry. Green Berry?! What is heck is a green berry?

This varnish goes on beautifully but I found that you have to do it quick. It's extremely quick to dry and anything more than two coats can look streaky and gloopy (yes, it's a word). The formula is a lot thicker than what can be found in most nail varnishes which means that it lasts longer without chipping and true to it's name, it's extremely shiny. A shine which even five days after application is still very visible on my nails.

It's a really lovely colour, just not as minty as I'd like it to be. It definitely looks lighter in the bottle than it does on my nails, but I don't really mind since I love the colour so much. This could be something to look for in Barry M's nail varnishes though, always get the shade lighter than you actually want to make sure it's the right colour! Overall I'm really happy with this nail varnish and it's lasting power! It's so lovely and I will definitely be investing in some more colours!

What do you think?
