Rest In Peace Michael

I spent so much of last night in a state of complete and utter shock, I cannot even comprehend that this has actually happened. I've ummed and ahhed over whether I have the right to write about you, and I've deleted this post three or four times already. Somehow everything I write just doesn't seem to be enough. I've been through all of our old photos and we look so young, and the photos that I want to see I can't even find, it's really stressing me out.

I just want you to know, that you were one of my very bestest friends in the whole entire world. No matter what. It doesn't matter that we fell out, it will always be my biggest regret that I haven't seen you since the argument. It breaks my heart to think about how we left things after such a strong friendship of so many years. You really meant so much to me. Without you I definitely wouldn't be the person I am today.

You were such a caring person, always there for me and those around you. It's very rare in this life that you find a genuinely nice person, but you were. You'd do anything to make someone happy, god, I know you held my hand through so many things. Always there when I needed a hug or to watch Beauty and The Beast. When I look back on things I realise how much I took our friendship for granted. I guess you never really think that someone could just...not be there any more. I always just assumed we'd see each other when you got back from living your amazing life in France and everything would be fixed.
How it breaks my heart to think that you're not here any more. I cannot even imagine how your family feels right now. Everyone loved you so much Michael. You've touched so many lives and that is evident on Facebook and to all those I've spoken to since I found out. You were only twenty years old (always the baby of the group), far too young to be taken from this world, but you lived one hell of a life. One that everyone was so jealous of. You've seen so much and done so much, you've probably seen more in your twenty years on this earth than I will ever do in my life.

I can remember the first ever time I met you - I went to a Lostprophets gig with Holly and you and all your friends where there. I remember thinking how funny you were and how much I instantly liked you. We had so much in common from the very start. We grew from being young teens into adulthood together. Spent so many days and nights causing mayhem. Throwing potatoes at Martin and his girlfriend at the time, going on nights out and drinking Flaming Sambucca shots, harassing people on the internet, going to gigs,  playing in my garden in the height of summer with Kurt, taking stupid photos together. You even came down to visit me so many times when I lived in Leeds (you always brought sweets - it was great). There are so many memories but I can pin-point my favourite one. I remember when I had seriously bad depression and you came to my house and lay on the bed with me, we just watched Beauty and The Beast and had a good cry. I felt so much better after that. You were the first boy that was allowed in my room because you were the only lad my Mum and Dad trusted. I remember all the stupid arguments we had over absolutely nothing except for the fact that we'd spent too much time together and were annoying each other. I remember all the hours we spent on MSN when we were younger, webcam chatting and singing songs to each other. We always said "Miserable At Best" was our song..."I can live without you but without you I'll be miserable at best". We were such little emos at the time but I guess the lyrics couldn't be more true now. I remember when I was having such a shit time in Leeds, and I had to move rooms because I hated my house-mates so much and you spent hours helping me pack up my bedroom. It wasn't even my idea to pack it up, but you started on your own and then started throwing socks at me to make me help you. All those years when we were completely inseparable - how I wish I could have those years back. I'd happily go through the awkward teenage faze again just to relive those memories, even the memories that hurt.

I don't think I'll ever meet anyone quite like you again, you were truly one of a kind. I'm fighting back so much guilt and regret right now, I wish I'd told you every day how much you meant to me. You were my best friend. I just hope you knew how much I cared. Your friendship meant so much to me, I guess you never really understand what you've got until it's gone.

Thank you for letting me into your life, Mike. I didn't deserve to get to spend so much time with you, I know this - we all know this. But I'm glad you did. I'm glad I got to know you in a way that a lot of people didn't. I will miss you forever and you will always hold a special place in my heart. I know that this write-up doesn't even do you justice, and I guess some would say that I shouldn't even be writing it after the last time we saw each other but right now I don't care. I guess, if there is a chance that you've got the internet in Heaven then you might read it. Everyone keeps saying to me "he knows how much you cared, he knows" but I'm not sure you did. I hope and pray that you did.

I love and miss you so much Mikey.

L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara

Let me first say just how much I adored the advertising for L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara. I absolutely love Japanese culture and I can't even count the amount of times I've wished for massive Anime eyes! I just want them to be big and blue and beautiful - that's not a lot to ask god damn it! So when I saw this being advertised I pretty much ran to Superdrug to stock up.

The main selling point with this mascara is the bendy 360 wand with it's tapered bristles to get those tricky lower lashes. The brush is a cone shape which seems to have a sort of wavy effect to it too making it great for all sizes of lashes and encourages those lashes to flair out a bit. It's the sort of wand I've never actually seen before so was extremely interested on how it would work on my lashes. I'm very picky about my mascaras!

How did it work? Well it definitely added a lot of volume for my lashes and made them an intense dark black. The formula was brilliant as well, and dried quickly but not too quickly that you can't add another layer (or two) if necessary. It doesn't smudge or flake during the day which is great as I absolutely hate that. There's nothing more embarrassing or off-putting than mascara flecks all over your face. Plus the formula wasn't too heavy! In the word's of Goldilocks - this mascara was just right.

Did I look like a gorgeous Manga princess? Sort of. My lashes looked big and it was an added bonus that my bottom lashes also looked massive which really opened up my eyes. It's really striking and such a pretty look. I would definitely recommend this mascara and will be using it every day to get that perfect Manga look.

What do you think? Would you give this a try?

Metcalfe's Charity Topcorn

As you may know, last week I spent my days down South in London. When I arrived home at 3am on Thursday morning, I arrived to a very secret package. I knew I'd not ordered anything because well...I have no money, so I was super excited to rip the packaging open to find out what I'd been sent!

It turns out that I had been sent a very special package from my favourite popcorn company of all time! It was a "sneak peak" of their latest partnership with the leading children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Basically the wonderful Metcalfe's Skinny company has pledged to raise over £30,000 for CLIC Sargent to raise money for children and young people suffering with cancer. They are doing this by rebranding their extremely popular "Sea Salt" popcorn to "CLIC Sargent Salt".
The launch was yesterday at one of CLIC Sargent's "Homes From Home" in London which was a super brilliant popcorn party for those living with cancer and their families (God I wish I'd been invited - popcorn party?! Sounds amazing!) From now on every pack of CLIC Sargent Salt sold, Metcalfe Skinny will make a donation to the charity and the funds raised could pay for vital services such as 1,000 nights in one of CLIC Sargent's Homes From Home, which provide free self-catering accommodation near to specialist hospitals.

Cancer is a terrible disease and every day, 10 children and young people in the UK find out that they have cancer. Treatment normally start's immediately but is often given many miles from home and can last up to three years. Although survival rates are over 80%, cancer still remains the largest cause of death from disease in children and youngsters in the UK.

The whole partnership sounds absolutely fantastic and it's something that I fully support, especially after losing a lot of people recently to cancer. I know for a fact that we all know or knew someone who has been suffering with cancer, so it's such a great feeling to be able to support something like this - and all you have to do is buy a bag of delicious popcorn! Trust me, the popcorn is really and truly delicious! I've reviewed some of Metcalfe's Skinny's products many times and I am a serious admirer of everything that they have brought out.

You can buy Metcalfe's Skinny CLIC Sargent Salt Topcorn in places like Sainsbury's, Tesco's and Primark's (to name a few) and at only 79p for a small bag and £1.59 for a large bag you can't really say no!

More About Metcalfe's Skinny

"Metcalfe’s skinny is on a mission to rustle up healthier alternatives to crisps, cakes and cookies. A growing range of delicious and light corn-based healthy snacks made with top quality ingredients and limitless love and care. It all started with a POP. As the Co Founder of Pret & itsu, Julian Metcalfe is obsessed with delicious and healthy food. Back in 2009 he was fed up of stodgy snacks that weighed him down and he wanted to create something that was light yet tasty to replace the bog standard crisp. Popcorn was the perfect fit & Metcalfe’s skinny Topcorn was born. After experimenting with dozens of flavours & varieties (not to mention a run in with a chocolate drizzle machine), Julian came up with the perfect recipe for freshly popped butterfly popcorn tumbled with Metcalfe’s skinny's unique flavours & seasoning. Pret was the first place that stocked the magic stuff and from there, the company quickly gathered a growing legion of fans. Metcalfe’s skinny Topcorn is now one of the most loved popcorn brands in the UK."

You Rock A Lot Of Polka Dots

Just a bit of a style post (and I mean a bit), unfortunately the only photos I got of my new "going out" outfit were taken on my mobile phone. Pretty much my whole outfit is from New Look and cost me no more than £30. It's such a pretty outfit and I felt so girly and cute in it!

Also how handsome does Kieron look *swoon*. In about a months time it will be our official 3 year anniversary - can you believe it? THREE YEARS. Insane.

As always, please hype my look on lookbook x

I Went To London!

Firstly I feel like I need to say sorry because I've been quite neglectful of my blog recently. I haven't done many posts and the content I've been putting out there has been well...rubbish. I am aware of this, but I'm find it so hard to juggle Uni and work and well...my whole life. That being said, next week it is half term so I can get back on track with everything hopefully. This week I've spent a few days down South in London, so I've been quite busy!

I had such a good few days with my friend Tina, we didn't do much shopping, mostly just wandering about and we basically spent 100 years on the tube every day getting to and from places! We also went to the cutest pub ever in Colliers Wood after having a cheeky Nandos and in true Northern style we drank A LOT of wine. We had to come back on Wednesday night and there was a whole massive drama with the trains being cancelled because of the weather in Lancashire but we finally arrived home at 3am Thursday morning after an extremely long night!

I'm Loving : Kardashian Kollection for Lipsy

Oh, drool. Super drool. I have some serious lady crushes on all of the Kardashian family, their styles are immaculate. How I sincerely wish I looked like them. My friend showed me their collection for Lipsy last weekend and since then I've been stalking Lipsy's website, deciding which items I'm going to save my pennies for. I also love that they have brought out a Beauty collection and even though at the moment it's hard to get hold of in the UK, I'm going to try my damn hardest. After all, who doesn't want to be a Kardashian?

Kardashian Cut Out Bodycon Dress - £50

This palette is absolutely stunning and a complete steal for £15, I'd love to see Kim and Kourtney's versions too as they are meant to be gorgeous!

You can check out the whole collection here

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo

I have always been a fan of Aussie's hair conditioners, especially their 3 minute deep repair so when I saw the Aussie range on sale a month or so back I decided to pick up some of their much loved "Miracle Moist Shampoo" and I have to say that this is now my all time favourite shampoo!

Miracle Moist Shampoo is enriched with Australian Macadamia Nut Oil which infuses moisture into dry and damaged hair (ie. my hair) to help condition and smooth. I absolutely adore the smell of this shampoo, it's probably one of the nicest smelling shampoos ever - sort of a bubble-gummy smell, and the smell lingers on your head for days after you've washed. Which is great really because you'll always have lovely smelling hair.

It produces a wonderfully thick, rich lather when applied to your hair so a little bit of product can go a long way. The product is so soft that you can feel it moisturising your hair as you lather it up and it feels so nice! Everyone loves a good pampering and it really does make me feel like I'm having my hair done professionally. My hair feels smooth during washing and stays detangled.

I've found that this shampoo has really improved the condition of my dry hair. Now my hair is soft and manageable, I really don't know how I lived without this shampoo in my life!

OOTD; Pale & Un-Interesting

Collar Crop Top - Primark, High Waisted Shorts - Forever21, Coat - SheInside, Boots - Dr Marten

I thought I'd try giving OOTD's another go. So I managed to set up my camera so I could get full shots and I'm quite happy with how they came out. The lighting is a bit crap, but it is in my house so whatever, I can deal with it for now.

The gorgeous collared crop top is from Primark, I believe it was around £8 and I absolutely love it. Although unfortunately one button has fallen off it *grumble grumble*. I think it's really cute and goes with pretty much anything. I've owned this high-waisted shorts for literally years, I haven't grown since I was about 13 so being 5'3 and a size 8/10 forever has been well...great. My brand new coat is from sheinside.com, I am really in love with this coat and I've been wearing it with every single outfit, it's become my every day coat although it's not really that practical for Northern weather it is very cute.

Please tell me what you think. Do you want me to keep attempting OOTD's or should I just stick with beauty? I'd rather know what you want to read/see! Plus any tips for OOTD's would be fabulous, I'm always jealous of some of the photos you girls put up on blogger - sigh. Why are you all so gorgeous?

PLEASE go and follow my new lookbook! I'll be trying to post as much as possible and hopefully I will get better at this selfie lark!

Motel Purchases!

Nobody loves to shop more than I love to shop! Is there such thing as a shopping rehab? There needs to be. I took advantage of Motels recent January sale and got myself a few goodies!

At the moment I'm absolutely obsessing over baby doll dresses with collars so of course one of my purchases had to be one. I also picked up the blue flowered tea dress which looks absolutely gorgeous on. The Kimono is so pretty, I love how the print is marble, plus it looks good with so many of my baby doll dresses (haha, obsessed is not the word)

Have you bought anything from Motel recently?
Check out Motel's website by clicking here and don't forget you can get 20% off at the check out by using the code MINICHIMP2001
