January Favourites!

Can you believe January is over already?! It seems like Christmas was just yesterday and now it's basically February. This month I have been loving loads of different things so I thought I'd share my faves with you and hopefully you'll share yours with me!

First things first, I have been really enjoying using Urban Decay's All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. It has become such a lifesaver and I've been using it every single day since I received it at Christmas. It always keeps my makeup in place no matter what I'm doing and it makes my skin feel super soft. I believe that everyone needs this product in their life, I don't know what I did before I started using it. Gone are the days where my foundation has rubbed off or my mascara has run! I've also been religiously using Argan Oil on my hair, at first I wasn't so sure about it. It seemed to make my hair feel greasy and heavy, but the more I've used it, the more my hair has got used to it. After a few months of using this my hair now feels soft and strong! Argan Oil is extremely rich in beneficial nutrients including fatty acids and vitamin E and its properties make it particularly beneficial for your hair!

I have mentioned before my love for Clearasil Superfruits Refreshing Pads. I buy these every few weeks now because they work amazing at cleansing my skin and removing makeup. They have completely replaced face wipes in my washing routine and I am absolutely in love with them and the way they make my skin feel afterwards. As always I am adoring MAC, particularly their lipstick in the shade Sin which I reviewed recently on my blog. It's such an amazing, deep wine colour that make me look and feel like a goth princess. It's such a glamorous colour and it really compliments my skin.

What have you been loving this month? Is there anything you think I should try?

Spring Wishlist

  1. Motel Leigh Cropped Box Shirt in Museum Floral Ochre
  2. Motel Slouchy Long Sleeve Cardigan in Grey
  3. Motel Zena Bodycon Mini Dress in Forest Black and White
  4. Motel Petal Shift Dress in Nouveau Oxblood
I will always have a soft spot for Motel, they were the first clothing brand that I really got into when I started blogging and there was a point in my life when every single thing I had in my wardrobe was from Motel. They are a fantastic brand and really stand out from the rest with their brilliant cuts and gorgeous, bold designs. Their quality is always top notch as well, they are literally just my favourite brand in the world.

I've had a look around their website today and it's been the first time in ages. I saw loads of stuff that I want but decided to trim my long list down to four "definite buys". I think all of these items would be absolutely perfect for Spring. I'm so sick of Winter now, the cold is really getting me down, so thinking about how glorious the weather is going to be in Spring is what's getting me through these cold, dark nights.

What do you think of these four items? Would you wear any? Make sure you go and check Motel's website (www.motelrocks.com) out and don't forget you can get 20% off using the discount code MINICHIMP2001 at the checkout!

Yves Rocher Skincare Goodies

I was recently contacted by Yves Rocher about their new skincare range and as I'm a massive fan of their brand I jumped at the chance to work with them. Yves Rocher have been one of my favourite beauty brands for some time now and I absolutely adore their products - their foundations are absolutely top notch.

Yves Rocher are primarily a French brand which have over the last few years has expanded into the UK and worldwide market. They are a fantastic company with great ethics, one that I am 100% behind. So getting to try a few more of their excellent products was an absolute dream for me.

I was sent a long-lasting moisturizing cream for hands, anti-fatigue iced gel for feet, body cream and a little coconut bath-bomb. The bath-bomb went straight into my bath as soon as the package arrived and it was an absolute joy. I never usually use things like bath-bombs, they just don't float my boat very much, but this one was super cute and I loved the smell of coconut that stayed on my skin even after my bath.

The moisturizing hand cream is really great for tired, dry hands. In this super cold weather I've been having a lot of problems with my skin and keeping it soft. This has really helped the condition of my hands every time I've used it. It smells so nice as well and it is clearly a natural product. The same goes really for the feet gel. My Mum swears by these sorts of gels as she is constantly on her feet at work but I'd never really tried one before. I can see why she likes them so much! After a hard days work I decided to give it a go and lathered it onto my poor feet. The cooling sensation is pretty much instant, as soon as you start to massage the gel into your feet they start to feel slightly cold. But oh, it's a wonderful sensation! You can also use this gel on your legs as well when they start to ache, which is great, everybody loves a two-in-one product.

Lastly we have the organic oats silky cream. This is basically a body lotion that is enriched with organic oats. Yves Rocher state on their website that they have "selected certain organic oats to restore intact all the virtues of this calming and softening cereal. Its beneficial effects provide the skin with soothing and protective mildness, like a tender, enveloping cocoon." I have to say that I completely agree with that! This cream really makes your skin feel soft straight away and super, super moisturised. It also smells...delicious. That's the only word I can think of to describe this. It just smells so yummy.

I really loved all of these products and I can not tell you enough that you should all get behind this great brand. They just offer an amazing range and everything I have ever tried from them has been fantastic.

Pixie Glittered - Grand Re-Opening! BLOGGERS WANTED

When I first opened my Christmas project Pixie Glittered in October last year, I never thought I'd be as popular or as busy as I was. It was insane the amount of orders I received for glitter glasses, and I managed to make over £400 in two short weeks. Obviously because it is no longer Christmas, the orders have dwindled and I've been left feeling...well...empty. I've been missing creating things. With that in mind, I decided to invest in a beautiful sewing machine and over the last few weeks I've been practising and creating all sorts of new designs.

Pixie Glittered is now reopening with a whole new look and feel. No longer will I focus soley on glitter wine glasses (although, they will always be in my heart). Instead Pixie Glittered is now offering beautiful hand-made accessories such as leg garters and head-bands.

Over the next year or so, I hope to expand and create pocket t-shirts, skirts, body harnesses ect ect. I'm really loving being creative and getting to share that with the world. I hope you all check out my shop and give us a cheeky like on facebook!

On top of this, and with the grand opening in mind, I am now looking for beauty and fashion bloggers that would like a freebie in return for some endorsement on their blogs. It would really help me get the brand out there! So please, if you are interested email minichimp2001@hotmail.com - this is gunna have to be a first come, first serve process. I'm not going to be extremely choosey about blogs, just as long as you post quality content and actually like my products!

My new shop opens tomorrow night, so I'm giving you lot the chance to get a freebie early on! But please, go and like us on facebook, and drop me an email so we can sort something out.

Thanks ladies,

2015 : Blogging Goals

This is my fourth year into blogging - four years, can you believe it? It's like a long, complicated relationship that I just can't stop. Today I've been looking back on my time as a blogger and thinking about all the things I wish I'd done differently. Old layouts that hurt to look at, outfit posts that were disasterous and product photographs taken on my phone. No, looking back is awful and it shows just how far I've come as a blogger. There are still things I'd like to improve upon though, I mean, sometimes I can just randomly go for months without posting, that is not the sign of a good blogger, let alone one that's been doing this for four years.

So I've come up with a few things that I'd like to do differently this year. I know pretty much everyone online has now got a post like this. In fact, I'm pretty late jumping on the bandwagon.

#1 - Blog more often
This year I am going to stick to a more scheduled routine in regards to my blog posts. Over the last four years I've just sort of been winging it. Blogging when I felt like it, which isn't really the thing to do if you're trying to be taken seriously in the blogging world. I've decided to blog more often, twice a week at least, and I'm going to stick to a strict schedule.

#2 - Write more ideas down
It's about time I started to actually plan my posts as well, even if I just jotted down a few notes here and there with some ideas on what to write. It would stop me from rambling and it would be so much more professional. Plus it means I can buy myself some super cute stationary.

#3 - More outfit posts
My intention for this year is to start taking more outfit photographs and documenting my style evolution. Looking back on photos it's clear to see that my style has changed dramatically. I would even go as far as saying that I'm probably in my most fashionable stage in life. So I guess I should really start showing it off, as it's something that I'm becoming quite proud of. It's been a long time since I felt good about the way I look, so why not flaunt it?

#4 - Take better photographs
I've had a DSLR for nearly three years and I still don't really know how to use it. I guess the more posts I create, the more I'm going to have to use it. I really need to learn the basics and then I'll be happy. I always hate the photographs I take for my blog posts.

#5 - Youtube?
This is one of those things that I keep coming back to. I'm still just so unsure about sitting in front of a camera and letting you all see me for who I really am (a complete Northern mess). This is something I have been thinking about for at least a year and I'm sure the day will come, I just know I'm so awkward and annoying. I guess it's a massive step to go onto youtube and I'm so jealous of all those girls that I know who took that step and are now super successful. I wish that could be me.

MAC Sin Lipstick Review

Mac's Sin lipstick originally came out with the Rocky Horror Picture Show collection - unfortunately, no matter how early I was awake on release day and no matter how often I refreshed the page I actually didn't managed to get my fill of Rocky products. I recently saw a friend post a photograph of herself wearing Sin and was absolutely mesmerised by the deep red colour. I needed it straight away. Usually I'm really good and I rarely treat myself to Mac (because it's just so damn expensive, and I'm already too far into my overdraft) but this time I just HAD to.

At the time of purchasing I didn't realise that Sin was actually apart of the Rocky collection, it was just a lovely surprise when I researched reviews! Though I do wish it was in fancy packaging, I'm just glad to actually have a colour as gorgeous and as limited as this one.

Mac describes Sin as deep dark blue red with a matte finish. It has a darker, more brown hue to its colouring in comparison to a typical wine red shade. The texture and wear is what you’d expect from a typical Mac matte and at times it can be a bit drying on the lips. The colour doesn't tug or feather though which I think is fantastic, as I always, always have problems with darker lipsticks (they just seem to get EVERYWHERE).

This has to be my favourite dark lipstick that I have ever owned. It's so gorgeous and completely wearable. I've been searching for a shade like this for years and have never found one so perfect. I'm so glad it was re-released in normal Mac packaging as I definitely would not of got the chance to own it ever in Rocky packaging. So, what do you think? Yay or nay?

Mini Bedroom Tour!

So moving house meant a new room, and whilst I'm still attempting to make it more...Jane-esque, I thought I'd show you what it's like at the moment. Or, snippets of what it's like. It's not perfect yet and it still feels slightly cold but it's getting there and it's feeling more and more like my room every day.

I really need some ideas for my walls and as decoration, so if anyone has any good ideas please leave me a comment and I'll take it into consideration. I need all the help I can get!

Overdue Life Update

Hey ya'll! So I thought since it's been a really long time since I've posted anything decent (or...well...anything for that matter), that I'd get back on track with a quick life update. Not that anyone cares but I think it's probably a good place to start - you know, new year, new me, new blog posts ect ect.

Usually I do these as a "life through my phone" segment, but the months have passed so quickly and trying to document everything I have done in these last few months would be too hectic.

I'm going to start with the biggie that's happened in my life - I've moved house. No longer am I a Blackburn girl *sob sob*, I've moved with my family to a better area, a nicer house and a bigger room. It's been one hell of a rollercoaster ride because we only really found out we were moving about 3 weeks before the actual move. We had to pack up our whole house in 2 weeks,so you can imagine how insane November and December was for my family. It was hard to leave my lovely home in Blackburn, I've lived there pretty much my whole life and the experiences I had in that house shaped me as a person. It's all a bit too emotional for me to properly think about. My new house is absolutely amazing though and I adore my new bedroom (a bedroom update is to be uploaded soon - once I've tidied up!)

The thing with moving is that my whole life is still in the 'Burn. My job, my family, my friends, Kieron, uni and most obviously, all of my favourite pubs. So I spend at least an hour of my day driving to and from my old life to my new life. Oh, did I mention that I am now 100% the owner of my own car!? My beautiful Fiat 500 - oh how I love thee.

As well as my job and Uni, I am now interning at a small production company. They've really given me the support I need and all the work I do for them goes towards my final grade at Uni. I'm currently looking at at least a 2:1 for my final grade and the year is only half way through, which is incredible when you think that a few months ago I would of sold my soul to leave Uni.

Christmas and New Years were great. I got to see a lot of people and managed to get myself awfully drunk on many occasions. Aside from that I don't have much to say, I refuse to go on and brag about what I got for Christmas like most, I'm happy with everything that comes my way at the moment. I think that I can honestly say that I am the happiest I have ever been at the moment. I keep trying to explain to people how crap I've felt about life over the last few years but now it finally seems like everything is looking up. I'm actually so excited about the future and what it holds for me.

I have vowed to start blogging again properly as well, I think I need blogging as a stress-relief, but believe me, I've just not had the time to blog over these last few months. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things and hopefully I can be a better blogger this year. I'd like to make more of a name for myself and attend loads of blogging events. Its about time I met some of the lovely ladies I speak to online every day!
