16 Beauty Tips & Tricks Everyone Should Know!

Basically, I am always looking for cheaper or quicker ways of doing beauty things. This is mostly because I am the world's laziest girl! Over the years I've learnt a few tips and tricks that have helped me save money, hassle and time and I thought I'd share my favourite 16 tricks with you!
  • Shave your legs with hair conditioner - when you run out of shaving cream use hair conditioner instead! It will moisturise your skin, soften your leg hair and make it easier to get that perfect close shave.
  • Spray a toothbrush with hairspray to use on misbehaving eyebrows - it's definitely cheaper than buying an eyebrow gel to style your brows and works just as well.
  • Toothpaste on nasty spots or pimples - the toothpaste will dry out your spots, making them look less red and much smaller.
  • Body lotion instead of makeup remover - if you ever run out of makeup remover or wipes just slap some body lotion all over your face to get rid of your makeup.
  • Tweezing tips - before you start tweezing your brows, make sure that you soften your skin by dabbing a cotton ball soaked in warm water or cream. It'll make it easier to pull those pesky hairs out.
  • Don't over wash your hair - believe it or not, over washing your hair can actually be bad for the follicles and messes with the natural oils in your hair so try to wash your hair only once or twice a week. Instead of washing use dry shampoo or use baby powder on your roots to soak up any grease.
  • Back-bomb your hair with a toothbrush - back-comb brushes can cost quite a bit of money so nip to the pound shop and pick up a toothbrush! It works just as well!
  • Remove nail polish with nail polish - strange I know, but use nail polish instead of nail polish remover to get rid of the colour on your nails. Just paint the polish over your nails and rub with a cotton bud, I promise you this works.
  • Freeze your eye-liner - if you have a crumbly eye-liner freeze it for 15 minutes in the freezer prior to applying your makeup. Once 15 minutes is over your eye-liner should glade along your lash line perfectly.
  • Peach toned lipstick for under eye circles - we all have days where we have big circles under our eyes and can't find out concealer so use a nude or peach toned lipstick instead. To make it look super natural set it with your regular face powder.
  • Milk to settle red eye - I used to always get sore, red eyes when I was younger and was prone to spots under my eyelid and the best way I found to combat the redness and swelling was to drip cold milk in my eye. The milk neutralises the redness and takes the swelling away.
  • Set your lipstick with tissue paper - take a piece of tissue paper and place it over your fresh lipstick, completely cover your mouth with it, then gently dab some setting powder on top and remove the paper! Your lipstick should now last all day.
  • Make your own lip plumper - to make your own lip plumper all you need to do is add a drop of peppermint oil to your favourite lipgloss. The peppermint oil will stimulate your lips making them look fuller.
  • Give your eyelashes the falsie effect - apply a layer of mascara and then dab on some baby powder, then add another layer of mascara. The baby powder clings to the ends of your lashes like little extensions. Keep applying layers this until your eyelashes look massive.
  • 3D effect lips by using pale eyeshadow - apply your lipstick and then dab on some frosted pale eyeshadow to the middle of your lower lip and a tiny bit on the middle of your top lip. The light will reflect off of the eyeshadow which creates a highlight, giving the effect of fuller, more luscious lips.
  • Apply perfume to hot spots on body - if you find that your perfume isn't staying on long enough then try to apply it to the hot spots on your body (behind the ear, inside of your wrists, base of throat,  inside elbow and behind the knee).
Have you ever tried any of these tips? Do you have any other tips and tricks you'd like to share?

  9. So many of these blew my mind! Thank you for sharing! And as for using body lotion to remove makeup… I started using olive oil which works just as well as makeup remover from the bottle. Plus it's moisturizing and you can just steal some from the kitchen ;)
