Even though I haven't got a lot of money right now (as usual, I mean as a student I'm hardly flashing the cash around and if I am it's usually on wine or shots) I do like to have a good look around online at things that I probably can't afford but want anyway. Everything I've found for this wishlist is adorable and I think it would make the cutest outfit for Summer!

Life Through My Phone #1

The first photo is of a gorgeous choker necklace that I bought from Heaven Is Whereever on Instagram. I'm in love with the choker and I've worn it almost every single day since it arrived. It's really become a staple part of my wardrobe! I also bought the polka dot boots from boohoo because I thought they were gorgeous and well I can't say no to polka dots! The Ben & Jerry's Greek Style Frozen Yoghurt was absolutely delicious and I spent the other night scoffing my face with it whilst doing my work. The final photograph is of my Final Cut Pro screen once my University work had been completed. I'd spent hour after hour slaving over my project and was so glad to see the back of it! I've had a tough few weeks trying to get finished all of my University work, I'm sure most of you are aware about how ridiculously stressful it is when deadlines are approaching! Thankfully that's all over with now and I don't have to think about editing until September.
Look at how absolutely gorgeous my best friends are. It's one of my favourite photos from last month, we are such cuties. The second photo was taken the day I went to Lancaster to visit my gorgeous blogger bestie Laura from Lisforladybird - you probably know her because her blog is fantastic and she is fantastic. I had the best few days ever last week, I don't think I've laughed and smiled so much in such a long time. The last two photos are of what Laura did to me (not against my will, more I made her do it) whilst I was at her house. Purple hair! It's only a 20 wash dye but I absolutely love the colour and would definitely consider keeping it like this. You should see Laura's hair as well, she looks like a complete mermaid.

Cocoa Brown One Hour Town

I have really ummed and ahhed about writing this review and to be honest I've been putting it off for a few weeks. I was so unbelievably excited to try this tan out after reading so many great reviews and I had so many people telling me it was the best tan that they've ever tried, so for me this review is going to be quite hard to write.

First things first, let's start with the basics. Cocoa Brown One Hour Tan is a new tanning product on the market which claims to give you "beautifully bronzed, radiant skin in just 1 hour". It also uses vegetable derived DHA (the active ingredient in self-tanners) and no parabens so is kind to sensitive skin. There are no nasty ingredients in this tanner - which also means no nasty smells.

The day before tanning, I did all the usual preparations. Shaving, exfoliating, moisturising - I did the lot - and the next day I woke up excited and ready to be a bronze goddess. I applied a generous amount of tan to my fake tanning mitt (Primark £1) and buffed it into my skin in a circular motion until I had covered my whole body and then I waited...

The tan itself has a lovely floral scent to it. It isn't overbearing and it certainly isn't anything close to that horrendous biscuit smell that some fake tans come with. It dries very quickly - maybe too quickly - so you really have to rush getting this on your skin correctly. One plus point was that because it dried quickly, it didn't leave any sort of stickiness on my skin and was able to cover up after a few minutes of application.

Cocoa Brown boast that you don't need to leave this tan on for more than 3 hours, in fact I've been told it completely stops developing after 3 hours. This is because Cocoa Brown contains tan accelerating ingredients which is meant to give you a rich brown town in just 1 hour. After an hour I must say that I saw little to no improvement in the colour of my skin so I decided to keep it on for the whole 3 hours.

Now I am an extremely pale person naturally because of bad genes and because I have been cursed with a Vitamin D deficiency and anaemia. Both of these things effect the colour of your skin and so I am usually a ghostly, pale white. I honestly would of thought that after an hour I would of seen some sort of improvement and I thought that I would definitely, definitely have a gorgeous tan after the whole three hours...but...no. For some unknown reason this tan just did not work for me. It didn't stick at all. I had a very pale tan, maybe a shade or two darker than my natural pale skin tone, but nothing significant and nothing anything close to that gorgeous brown tan I'd been promised by the product, friends and other bloggers. I wasn't the only person that this tan didn't work on, in fact I'd convinced my friend to buy it as well and she had the same bad results.

I'm really unsure of what happened here. Everyone else has had such a good response to this product but I guess that stuff like this just doesn't work on everyone and I have the accept that. It wouldn't be the first time that a fake tan hasn't worked on me either. I didn't want to write a negative review. There are a lot of great things about this product because there's no icky ingredients and there's no icky smell, but I guess that all of that doesn't matter if it doesn't completely work on some people.

I would however, like to try the darker Cocoa Brown tan, just to see if that one would work better on my skin. Clearly I am just destined to be pale forever and ever until the end of time!

Primark PS Loves Nail Varnish - Light Blue

I hope you're ready for a rave bargain review!? As you know, I've been obsessed with my nails recently. I've finally stopped chewing on them and I've let them grow, and they are gorgeous. So I've really been spoiling myself with hundreds of bottles of nail varnishes from loads of different brands. This week I've been wearing one of Primark's own nail varnishes. I can't find an official colour on my bottle, I'm not sure if it does have one and the stickers just fallen off or what, but let's just call it Light Blue!

In true "can't be bothered and forgot to do it" style, I didn't take a photo of my nails after I had done them, so here is a photo of me holding my little baby Domino. On this photo you can see the colour of my nails (even if they are chipped - what an awful beauty blogger I am) and they are a lovely sky blue colour. I really love this colour, it's so cute and quirky. Perfect for brightening up any outfit!

The nail varnish has a large brush applicator which basically covers my whole nail in one stroke. It's easy to use and didn't seem to get me that messy. It also dries insanely quickly and leaves you with a lovely shiny finish. The formula is quite thick but I found that my nails chipped pretty quickly once dried, I'm talking one or two hours and my nails were starting to look tacky...in fact I'm looking at them now and they are god damn awful and I've only had the varnish on for a week or so. Maybe I've just been overusing my fingers? I don't know.

Overall though, I do really like this nail varnish. I can deal with the chipping because it was a bargain buy at only £1.00 so you can't really complain when it's so cheap! I adore the colour, it's so bright and it's definitely a perfect shade for this summer. Thumbs up from me!

Reverse Hair Washing - Yay or Nay?

When I first found out about reverse hair washing I was a bit like "wait? what?" and to be honest, it didn't make sense to me. So I decided to do a little bit of research and read a lot of reviews on the subject. I know a lot of bloggers have been raving about it so it seemed only right that I tried it out.

What is reverse hair washing?
Reverse hair washing is when you use conditioner first and shampoo second. It really is as simple as that. The theory behind it is that you still get all the nourishing moisturising effects that a conditioner gives us but that you aren't left with that weighted down, almost greasy look that conditioning sometimes leaves us. Reverse washing also ensures that conditioner is definitely fully washed out with the aid of the shampoo. It's meant to make your hair look thicker and healthier.

Yeah, but does it work?
I decided to give it a try, and have been trying it for the last few weeks and to be honest, I can't really see that much of a difference. If anything, conditioning my hair first has left my hair feeling dry and straw-like. I'm not sure whether this is because my hair has previously been bleached (years ago)? I also found that it doesn't stop my hair from being greasy the day after I've washed my hair, I've probably used a lot more dry shampoo during these last few weeks. It does however make my hair look fuller the day of washing though so that's a definite plus.

Yay or Nay?
Ummm, I'm going to go with Nay. I'm not so sure about this, but it could just be my hair type! I know it's worked for a lot of people so I'm going to keep trying it to see if I can see any improvement.

16 Beauty Tips & Tricks Everyone Should Know!

Basically, I am always looking for cheaper or quicker ways of doing beauty things. This is mostly because I am the world's laziest girl! Over the years I've learnt a few tips and tricks that have helped me save money, hassle and time and I thought I'd share my favourite 16 tricks with you!
  • Shave your legs with hair conditioner - when you run out of shaving cream use hair conditioner instead! It will moisturise your skin, soften your leg hair and make it easier to get that perfect close shave.
  • Spray a toothbrush with hairspray to use on misbehaving eyebrows - it's definitely cheaper than buying an eyebrow gel to style your brows and works just as well.
  • Toothpaste on nasty spots or pimples - the toothpaste will dry out your spots, making them look less red and much smaller.
  • Body lotion instead of makeup remover - if you ever run out of makeup remover or wipes just slap some body lotion all over your face to get rid of your makeup.
  • Tweezing tips - before you start tweezing your brows, make sure that you soften your skin by dabbing a cotton ball soaked in warm water or cream. It'll make it easier to pull those pesky hairs out.
  • Don't over wash your hair - believe it or not, over washing your hair can actually be bad for the follicles and messes with the natural oils in your hair so try to wash your hair only once or twice a week. Instead of washing use dry shampoo or use baby powder on your roots to soak up any grease.
  • Back-bomb your hair with a toothbrush - back-comb brushes can cost quite a bit of money so nip to the pound shop and pick up a toothbrush! It works just as well!
  • Remove nail polish with nail polish - strange I know, but use nail polish instead of nail polish remover to get rid of the colour on your nails. Just paint the polish over your nails and rub with a cotton bud, I promise you this works.
  • Freeze your eye-liner - if you have a crumbly eye-liner freeze it for 15 minutes in the freezer prior to applying your makeup. Once 15 minutes is over your eye-liner should glade along your lash line perfectly.
  • Peach toned lipstick for under eye circles - we all have days where we have big circles under our eyes and can't find out concealer so use a nude or peach toned lipstick instead. To make it look super natural set it with your regular face powder.
  • Milk to settle red eye - I used to always get sore, red eyes when I was younger and was prone to spots under my eyelid and the best way I found to combat the redness and swelling was to drip cold milk in my eye. The milk neutralises the redness and takes the swelling away.
  • Set your lipstick with tissue paper - take a piece of tissue paper and place it over your fresh lipstick, completely cover your mouth with it, then gently dab some setting powder on top and remove the paper! Your lipstick should now last all day.
  • Make your own lip plumper - to make your own lip plumper all you need to do is add a drop of peppermint oil to your favourite lipgloss. The peppermint oil will stimulate your lips making them look fuller.
  • Give your eyelashes the falsie effect - apply a layer of mascara and then dab on some baby powder, then add another layer of mascara. The baby powder clings to the ends of your lashes like little extensions. Keep applying layers this until your eyelashes look massive.
  • 3D effect lips by using pale eyeshadow - apply your lipstick and then dab on some frosted pale eyeshadow to the middle of your lower lip and a tiny bit on the middle of your top lip. The light will reflect off of the eyeshadow which creates a highlight, giving the effect of fuller, more luscious lips.
  • Apply perfume to hot spots on body - if you find that your perfume isn't staying on long enough then try to apply it to the hot spots on your body (behind the ear, inside of your wrists, base of throat,  inside elbow and behind the knee).
Have you ever tried any of these tips? Do you have any other tips and tricks you'd like to share?

I'm back! Did you miss me? I know you did.

I am officially finished with University for this year so I'm back with a brand new blog layout and loads of new posts ready for you to read and take part in. I'm so happy to be able to blog properly again, like, you don't even understand how excited I am to be typing this right now. I am actually getting little butterflies of excitement. It's like starting a new blog all over again. I cannot believe it's been over a month since I last wrote and published a post, have you missed me? I know you have!

This layout has taken me the last two hours to build up, I am rubbish with HTML codes and I wanted all these fancy things like the dashed lines and stuff so spent absolutely ages googling how to do things! I'm quite proud of it. It feels so good to have a new start. I feel like my blog had been tainted by the fact that I wasn't mentally in the best place these last few months, but now everything is finished, Uni is finally over and I can really focus on my blog and my hobbies now.

So I guess since I've been away for so long I really want to just hear from you! What have you been doing this last month, have you had a nice time? Have you had a rubbish time? Have you done anything exciting or scary? ANYTHING. I literally just want to have a comment chat with you all.
