Hiiiiii girls (and the occasional boy!). My name's Laura and I blog over at L is for Ladybird. Most of you will have clicked on this post expecting Jane and I'm sorry to disappoint but she's away sunning herself, and while I'm super jealous, I'm also super happy to be gatecrashing her blog so I can be a little poptart for the day.
Anyway, you lovely bunch, I decided to do a little post on something which is very close to my heart- NUDES! Oo-er.
Up until about six months ago, nude lipsticks were the bane of my life. I had just about resigned myself to the fact that I was only ever going to be a bold lip wearer. Everything was too brown, too peach, too pink or just outright too concealer lips and it was only by chance that I stumbled across my perfect nude after falling in love with the formulation of Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipsticks and doing the usual Laura thing of liking something in one colour so insisting on buying it in all other shades. Anyone else do that? I'm talking lipsticks, eyeshadows, t shirts, the works.
So, after buying every single colour in the Moisture Renew range bar about two, I decided that I should probably try them all out rather than just having them sitting in my stupidly large lipstick collection never to see the light of day again and after going all out one night with a smokey eye, I wanted something really neutral on the lips and a quick sift of my nudes (all three of them) saw me come out with Let's Get Naked; a perfect mix between a pink, peach and brown nude. I don't want to use the phrase 'your lips but better' because it's not but I don't think nudes necessarily have to have that quality to them.
I'd say that Let's Get Naked is predominantly pink based shade but it's not like "BAM I'M PINK!" because of the very slight brown and peach tones. Do correct me if I'm wrong because I don't have a degree in lipstick obviously, but this is just how it shows up on my lips.
If you weren't already sold on the colour alone, the formulation of this lipstick, and the whole range, is beautiful. They're very silky and don't dry your lips out at all. They also smell like old lady soap, which I love. I find it so cute and comforting somehow.
I find with Let's Get Naked, that it does actually leave a slight stain to the lips if you've been eating or drinking and the lipstick itself has come off. That said, it does stand up pretty well in the longevity department, even when eating and drinking, and it's £6.49!
And that's it girls, I am all over Let's Get Naked and will be all year round, what about you?
Such a pretty shade for summer xx
