Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in 04

This is a lippy I've had a while but only worn once or two. When the Kate Moss lipsticks came out, I like everybody went crazy for them. So crazy that I was going through them super quick. In total I have had 6 of these lipsticks! When I bought 04 I had high hopes, and plus, I'd always wanted a lovely dark purple colour for those goth days.

The lipstick itself is gorgeous, its a very pigmented and it just screams quality. Although it seems to have more of a sheer look on the lips in comparison to the other lipsticks in this range. It's the sort of lipstick that you have to build up if you want a darker but obvious colour. But on the plus side, this lipstick is super moisturising and feels nicer on the lips. It's definitely not a colour that I personally wear daily, infact I'm not even sure I can pull it off! But it's nice to have the option there, just in-case I'm ever feeling daring enough to wear it!

What do you think? Could you pull it off?

Instagram Week!

1. No makeup day! / 2. Deadline week and no essays written whoops (I got them all in on time - hurray!) / 3. Cuddles with baby Domino / 4. Blackpool Casino! / 5. Delicious pancake breakfast, what diet?! / 6. Mini golf with the sister (I lost, how typical) / 7. Best friends / 8. Gradual self tanner, gradually making me more attractive / 9. A very poorly baby tortoise and his make-shift hospital :(

I have a few things to write, but right now I have a very poorly baby tortoise on my hands who may or may not make it through the night so you'll all have to bare with me. Please send healing thoughts to baby Domino. His eye has swollen up and could possibly have Vitamin D deficiency which can be fatal. I am a very worried mother right now!

Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion For A Sun-Kissed Look!

Garnier Summer Body Lotion is a gradual self tanning moisturiser that can be used on the body and face. It's aim is to gradually build a natural looking yet sun-kissed tan and effectively moisturise your skin for 12 hours. I first saw this on another blog and they'd basically written a fantastic rave review which made me want to go out and buy it!

I have never used any type of self tanning product before. I've always lived by the phrase "pale is beautiful". I am in no way a fan of those orange-tangoed girls who get a spray tan every week and spend a zillion hours on a sun-bed. I hate those people. To me, natural is better. So why did I buy this? Because I'm easily persuaded and also, I have a holiday coming up and I don't want to look like Casper the friendly ghost...again. How hypocritical, I know. But in my defence, this is supposed to give you a natural looking tan...not an orange one.

So here goes with the actual review. Mini rant over.

This stuff is absolutely fantastic! I got it on offer 2-4-1 at Tescos and I believe it's also on a half price offer in Superdrug right now too. I started off with a body like this :

Yep my arms are completely white. Not a drop of colour anywhere on that bad boy! I applied the first application after my bath and before bed. It went on and felt like a moisturiser. Even looks like a moisturiser. It smells absolutely DIVINE because it uses extract of apricot. It doesn't smell like fake tan at all! I fell asleep and woke up the next morning with a very light tan.

Now you need to bare in mind that this is a gradual tanner, so don't expect it to make you brown straight away. After three applications I am a lovely shade of bronze (for the first time in my life) but it's still very light in comparison to what a normal tanner would give you. It looks natural and when comparing my arms and legs with other people I am darker than they are so I imagine after a few more applications I will be extremely tanned! I have also used this on my face with no problems, because it isn't a dark tan you can get away with it and it gives my face a lovely sunkissed glow.

This is after three applications and taken on my phone so you can see the colour better. The flash on my Canon was still making me look super pale! Stupid camera. It's such a good product and it dries so quickly that you barely even feel like you've put it on until the next morning when you wake up and you are a bronzed goddess!

If you're like me, and too pale for your own good, I recommend you grab this now whilst it's on offer!

£1 Primark Ladybird Nails

Today I went to Blackpool and as a small treat to myself for getting all of my work in on deadline day, I bought myself these adorable ladybird nails from Primark!

I do love the nails from Primark, and at £1, you seriously cannot fault the quality. These are so quirky! They sell so many different pairs and usually I just get the plain manicure ones but I could not resist!

What do you think?

Living With...Caffeine Allergy & Intolerence

I don't tend to do posts like this, but I'm mostly writing this as a warning.

As a child I was never allowed to have drinks like Coke or Pepsi, in fact any fizzy drink was out of the question unless it was a special occasion. But obviously being the rebel I am, as I grew older I broke the rules and went crazy with energy drinks and my addiction to Pepsi got so bad that I'd be drinking 3 or 4 litres a day. I wouldn't even realise how much I was drinking. I'd just keep bottles in my room and keep filling up my glass through-out the day. Then I started to work at McDonalds and it got so much worse because I was getting free drinks there, and as time went on I started doing night shifts so would drink 4 or 5 energy drinks through my shift to keep me going. It was excessive, but no more excessive than people having a few cups of coffee each day, so I didn't really ever think there was anything wrong.

One day I sorted to get these massive burning rashes all over my body. I went to the Doctors countless times and nobody knew what they were. Then my bones and muscles started to fail me. I'd sprain my wrist weekly and had no idea why. My muscles and bones hurt so much some days that I couldn't get out of bed, I used to cry myself to sleep at night. And then came the stomach pains, horrible, horrible stomach cramps that would last days on end and left me feeling crippled. It was awful. Doctor's kept prescribing me with pills that wouldn't work and it got to the stage where I literally thought I was going to die. I remember being on holiday and obviously I was drinking a lot to keep myself hydrated in the heat, and each night I'd go to bed with a massive burning rash on my back, so bad that I couldn't lie down properly and I'd just have to deal with it. It was awful. My life was becoming hell.

I carried on my life through all of this, and eventually got a new job for a PPI & loan company. There I met some amazing people, one of the lads that I'd met saw my rashes and asked me if I drank caffeine. I said "no I hate coffee, but I do like to drink coke" and he looked at me knowingly. That night he facebooked me with a link to website which explained caffeine intolerance and caffeine allergies.

Straight away I knew.

I had all the symptoms and a lot of the "other possible symptoms" - you know the ones that only certain people get. I suddenly felt relief, I wasn't dying, there was nothing really wrong with me. And from that day I cut out caffeine completely.

It was hard, everything has caffeine in it. I have to check every thing I eat because some of the strangest things that you wouldn't even expect have caffeine in. Even some caffeine-free products have a small percentage of caffeine in (absolutely ridiculous, don't get me started) I've managed to completely cut it out of my diet though and within about a week of cutting it out my whole life had changed. I felt back to normal, nothing hurt. No rashes. It was an absolute miracle.

Now I'm writing this mainly as a warning. The intolerance to caffeine was of my own making. When you overdo something so much, then your body will start to reject it. This can happen with pretty much anything. My diet was not healthy and my body could not cope. I see my Mum drinking 5 or 6 cups of coffee a day and I just want to scream and shout at her because I would never ever wish the pain on her or anyone for that matter. My friends who drink energy drinks I get really angry at because there's nothing I can do to help them.

Caffeine allergy and intolerance can happen to anyone at any stage in their life. It's not something that you are born with, it's something that happens over time and it's something that you brought upon yourself. It's hard to deal with and it hurts like hell.

So put that cup of coffee down and go and drink some water. You'll feel so much better for it x

Garnier Moisture Match

The lovely folks at Garnier sent me a few samples of their newest product "Moisture Match". These are basically a range of moisturisers for different kinds of skin!

From the Garnier website:

Garnier brings you new Moisture Match – tailor-made moisturisers for 24hr Hydration. Our new generation of tailor-made moisturising creams offer hydration to suit your skin.
Find your skin’s perfect match – Protect & Glow for normal skin, Start Afresh for normal/dry skin, Goodbye Dry...for dry/very dry skin, Wake Me Up for dull skin and Shine Be Gone for combination/oily skin.

I was sent three different samples : one for dull skin, one for combination to oily skin and one for normal skin! I decided to first try the dull skin moisturiser because without makeup my skin is awful. It's just ... so blah. Horrible, horrible face.

The moisturiser iteself is like something that I personally have never seen before. I am used to moisturisers being at thick, white substance but when I popped my fingers in I found a transparent, light substance. Needless to say, I was excited and I slapped it all over my face.

It took SECONDS to absorb into my skin, which I loved! I tend to have to sit and wait for like 5 minutes for normal moisturisers to absorb which is usually really annoying, so I was glad that I didn't have that problem with this. It felt so nice and light on my face. It was lovely, to say the least. And I felt like I did see a slight change in the colour of my skin (I can't decide if this is because I REALLY wanted it to work or whether it was because it actually did but ho-hum)

I still have the other two to try, but I'm guessing they will be pretty similar to the dull skin one. I might try another today (exciting!). I'd definitely recommend you give these a go - mostly just for a change from those thick, white moisturisers!
