Yves Rocher Wrinkles And Radiance Serum Vegetal Review*

Day and night creams are something that I, in all honesty, have only recently just discovered. I didn't really ever think that it would be necessary to include these sorts of creams in my every day/night routines so previously I have sort of shied away from them. In my head they were always for the slightly older generation. After all, I'm 23, I don't have wrinkles yet! But, after doing a lot of research I discovered that my pre-conceived notions about day and night creams were untrue. In fact, day and night creams should be a staple part of everyone's routine as they help to combat early signs of wrinkles, as well as moisturising and illuminating your face.

I am currently using Yves Rocher's Wrinkles And Radiance Serum Vegetal Day and Night Creams. This range is an anti-aging line, which targets the early signs of aging as well as nourishing and restoring the skin back to it's youthful glow. Now as I stated before, I'm still relatively young, so my youthful glow is still pretty glowy, but any product that promises to smooth out any lurking wrinkles sounds good to me.

Yves Rocher are a brand that I absolutely adore and have done for such a long time. Their products are simply amazing. If you didn't already know, Yves Rocher use only natural ingredients from their very own Botanical Gardens, each of these ingredients are organically and specially grown so that the products you buy from Yves Rocher are always of high quality and are always 100% natural.

I am really enjoying using both of these creams and I have made sure to use them every single day since I received them. They are both extremely creamy and feel rich on the skin. They also have an absolutely gorgeous scent, which is fresh without being too overpowering. The packaging is probably my favourite part of this product (which seems such an odd thing to say!) I'm really into glass jars at the moment, I just think they look so lovely in my white room or on the side in my bathroom. Glass jars just scream "quality" to me. I really do love both of the creams, they make a great addition to my routine but on top of that, I think they would be a glamorous present for anyone interested in skincare products.

You can get your hands on the Yves Rocher Wrinkles And Radiance Kit here for only £42 - a bargain price for such high quality, luxurious creams!

Flesh Eating Babe

Apart from the frightening, the moaning, the biting, he seemed to be a nice guy.

Possibly my favourite dress of all time, "zombie nation" is a Black Milk rip off that I bought from ebay about a year ago. I'm all for Black Milk, and I own a few of their official dresses but I can't be the only one who thinks their clothing is just so expensive. I know I'm just a student, and I'm not exactly rolling in the dough, which is probably why they seem so much. I mean I'd rather eat than spend £70 on one dress. I think that sometimes it's okay to buy rip offs.

The only problem with this dress is that it is a little bit pixelly. If you're close up to it, none of the zombies are in focus. Ho-hum, how can I complain when it cost me £5?!

Double Denim

This double denim disaster is dedicated to everyone's favourite snake, forever known as Double Denim amongst my friends. As much as I like to mock, I actually don't think that double denim is that bad. If done properly double denim can look quite cool and very, very 90's - if that's the look you're going for then double denim is definitely the way to go. I can hear fashion bloggers all over the world cringing in their seats right now after reading that.

I am really obsessed with Topshops Joni Jeans, as I'm sure most of you are. I just find that they really flatter my short/small frame. I tend to find that most jeans are too long or too baggy for me, but these are absolutely perfect and I urge everyone to try them out.

Girl Gang : Bloggers I Adore

I am all about online friendships, because over the years I have known so many wonderful people who have been there for me just when I needed them. The thing is with online friends is that they don't have to know every little thing about your life to care, they're the ones that pop up on Twitter at 2am telling you how much they love you, even if you haven't spoken or tweeted them yet that week. They're the ones that send you ridiculous snapchats from hundreds of miles away to brighten your day and every so often they become the ones that you meet in real life and create a solid friendship with.
Recently I have been blabbering on about how beauty bloggers don't have a "girl gang". We've seen it a million times with the fashion bloggers - which is great because...I mean...just look at how fabulous they are. I don't need to tell you that. But as beauty bloggers we are less than obvious about our friendships and the things that we have in common with eachother. That's why today, I am going to introduce to you the lovely ladies that I absolutely adore, who have got me through so much these last few months. These are the girls I want in my very own Girl Gang.

I am going to start with an obvious one. One day, about two years ago, I got the cutest email from Laura that basically said she'd been reading my blog and noticed that my boyfriend went to the same University as her. After hundreds of emails back and forth, chatting about our lives and getting to know eachother, we decided to take the plunge and meet up at Lancaster Uni. This was the start of a fantastic friendship, one that I'm not sure either of us originally expected. We found that we had so much in common, and since then we have been the bestest of blogger friends. My friends and family absolutely adore her, and I love her family as well. We've been to meetups together, stopped over at eachother's houses, got drunk together and last time we met up we spent the afternoon eating pizza, gossiping and watching youtube (something that you can only do comfortably with real friends!) Laura has become my little blogging partner in crime, and even though we don't get to see eachother that much, when we do see eachother it's like we have never been apart.

Where do I start with Tanya? I'm not even sure how this wonderful girl appeared in my life. One day we were casually chatting on Twitter, the next minute we were sending ugly selfies to eachother via Snapchat and being Facebook besties. Aside from Laura (who I've met in real life), Tanya is the only blogger that has my phone number. She's just such a lovely girl who is such a good friend and also a fantastic, top-notch beauty blogger. Her content never fails to amaze me and I'm so jelly of all the events she gets to go to. In August I'm going down to LDN to live with her for a few days and I actually can't wait for all the fun we are going to have. In the mean time, I hope we have lots of drunken phone-calls and cute tweets. Love you lots Tanya!

Olivia is probably the main inspiration for this post. At the moment she has been showering the Twitter/blogger community with compliments with her #sharelove campaign which aims to make bloggers feel happier about themselves and their day. I cannot express how lovely Olivia is, and when she sends me a tweet I always feel so warm and happy inside! We have had some hilarious conversations in the past and her Twitter is a staple in my day. She is always there for me on Twitter, infact she is always supporting everyone on Twitter and I think that is so amazing. You make the blogging world a better place Olivia, so thank you for letting me into your life a little bit.

It's funny because these are my "top three" but there are so many lovely ladies online that I have become pals with these last few years. Even those that aren't bloggers *hiya Beck!* it's been great fun getting to know so many people and obviously I'm always looking for new recruits in my "Girl Gang" so if you fancy popping up and saying "Hi", I'd be more than honoured to say "Hi" back.

Florescent Adolescent

At the begining of the year I swore to myself that I would put up more outfit related posts. It seemed like such a simple thing at the time, taking photographs of the stuff you wear. But it's not. I spent an hour trying to fix my tripod and then when I couldn't fit it, I spent a good half an hour creating a tripod out of books (hahaha). This is the result of all my efforts! I have a good few outfit posts that I am so ready to share with you and well, I just hope you like them. It's been a struggle for me over the last few years, being apart of this industry and still being insecure with the way I look, but I'm slowly over-coming that and I hope that it is starting to show.

Green Crop Top - Topshop - £20
Ripped Joni Jeans - Topshop - £38
Black Choker - New Look - £2

If you do actually want to see more outfit/fashion related posts please, please leave me a comment or send me a tweet. I'd love to hear your opinions!

23 Facts About Me

Recently I have been watching loads of those "50 things about me" videos on Youtube. I am absolutely obsessed with Youtube at the moment, and even though I currently have no desire to join the Youtube clan, I like to steal ideas from their videos for blog posts! So in the spirit of Youtube, today I am going to be writing a "23 things about me" post. 23 things because I am 23 years old and I honestly don't think I am interesting enough for 50 things! I don't think I have ever put up a post about myself, I've done "life through my phone" and Instagram posts but they don't really get into the nitty gritty details. And whilst you probably don't care about the nitty gritty details, for whatever reason, I did with the Youtubers and I enjoyed their videos, so hopefully, maybe someone will enjoy reading this. And if not - ho hum, what are you gunna do?! You live and you learn.

So without further ado:

  1. My full name is Jane Louise Davis.
  2. I am actually 23 years old, 24 in October, but I look about 12.
  3. I am 5 foot 3 - I literally haven't grown since about year 8.
  4. I have a lovely boyfriend named Kieron and we have been together for 4 whole years.
  5. I have quite a large group of friends - I have "the girls" which consist of Tina, Bryony, Ashley, Emily and Aleshia, then I have "shot club" which consists of about 12 rowdy alcoholics that I love with my whole heart.
  6. I am insanely allergic to caffeine, and that came from being addicted to Pepsi and Red Bull. For years I used to drink drinks full of rubbish and then one day my body just couldn't take it any more. I come up in rashes and I have panic attacks and I have to go to hospital if I have even a few sips of caffeine.
  7. I have been to Disney World in Florida about thirteen times and Disney Land Paris three times. I am obsessed with Disney especially the Disney Princesses. Belle from Beauty & The Beast is my idol.
  8. I have a dog called Max, two tortoises called Sid and Domino and four fish called Puck, Luna, Leroy and Aphrodite.
  9. I used to be a proper little emo at school. I'm talking black and blue hair, panda eyes and studded belts. I grew out of that phase pretty much as soon as I left school, even though I always told people that I would always be like that.
  10. When I get drunk my voices goes from being a proper Northern lass to a three year old kid. I am a screechy mess when I've had a drink.
  11. I am overly competitive in everything I do. Especially at pub quizzes.
  12. After all this time, I still have absolutely NO IDEA what I want to do with my life.
  13. I am studying "Moving Image" at Uni which is basically television and film production. I suck at it and I hate it, but it's the final year so thank the lord it's almost over.
  14. I genuinely believe in ghosts, aliens and demons. I'm also super into psychics as well. Anything remotely paranormal and I'm well in there.
  15. In the past I have had severe depression and anxiety, it's only in the last few years that I have overcome them. I am an invisible illness kind of girl and I was very, very poorly for such a long time.
  16. I am super, super loud. All. Of. The. Time. I think it's to over compensate for how tiny I am. When I was at school I won the "always heard, never seen" award.
  17. Top five favourite bands:- The Heartbreaks, The Arctic Monkeys, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Motion City Soundtrack and Queen.
  18. I really hate the way I look. If I could I'd have a nose job and lip fillers (to start with). I think I am mingin but on the opposite end of the scale I also really like to take selfies - go figure.
  19. I am a gobby little shite, and I tend to say whatever's on my mind at the time. This tends to mean that I get into a lot of arguments with people.
  20. I feel that I have a very strong sense of right and wrong - it's something that I pride myself on.
  21. I spend about 50% of my time in Wetherspoons.
  22. I work at Waterstones, it is like my dream job because I love, love, LOVE books.
  23. I am proper proper into alternative religions such as Paganism and Satanism. You'll often hear my friends telling me that I'm going to set on fire if we go anywhere near a church.

The Big Fat Tape Extensions Post

I have been wanting to write this post for the last few weeks, in fact, as soon as I installed my tape in extensions I wanted to write about how obsessed I already was. But I have restrained myself because I really wanted to give you guys a proper, in-depth blog post about these because they're quite a new thing and I think it is necessary that you get all the ins and outs from someone who has actually been wearing them for a while.

So first things first (I'm the realest), tape in extensions are a relatively new thing and are worn by the likes of Lauren Conrad and well, if they're good enough for Lauren Conrad then they're good enough for me! Better for your hair and scalp then micro-rings, sewn in and keratin bonds, tape in extensions use toupee tape to semi-permanently stick the extensions to the roots of your hair. This creates a seamless, flat and more more natural look for those who want to wear hair extensions for up to three months.

Due to the fact that I had recently invested in some double weft clip in extensions from cliphair, I decided to DIY my tape ins by removing the clips and adding the tape. This was easily done after some research into the different sorts of tapes available on the market. It turns out, there is a lot of different types and sizes of tape, some of them are rubbish and others are great. I found that out the hard way! I originally bought "Walker Extra-Hold Tape" in a teeny tiny size. This tape stated that it would hold in the hair for up to two months. I stupidly bought this tape without doing any research on sizing and found that after the first wash my extensions had slipped out because the tape was too small to hold the weight of my hair. Not good. In the end I ordered Walkers "No Shine" tape in a larger size than the "Extra-Hold" tape and it has worked perfectly. If I were you, I would definitely go for the No Shine tape, it may be slightly more expensive but you need to pay for quality when it comes to this stuff. No Shine tape cost me £13 which really wasn't so bad. You can buy pre-taped extensions from most places, a quick google search will bring them up, though I think they do work out as more expensive than DIYing it.

The next step was to apply the tape onto the extensions. This was pretty easy. You just stick one side of the tape all around the top of the extensions and cut the excess off, making sure to leave the plastic on on one side. The next step should come super easy to those who wear extensions on a daily basis - you need to section  your hair. Once you think you are ready for the first layer of extensions, you pop your hair straighteners on the plastic part of the tape to warm it up and make it super sticky, and after a few seconds peel the plastic off.

Now comes the hard-ish part. You need to put the tape on your roots, so it can be quite fiddly. I would definitely recommend having a few mirrors available to you or get someone to help you! I applied my first layer in the middle of my ears at the back of my head. Once its in you need to cover the top side of the tape with your hair. You can do this two ways, you can pick hair to put over it and then push down  on the tape and hair with your hair brush to secure it has stuck down properly. Or you can do what I did and let my hair out of the bun I had at the top of my head. Then I pushed down on it with my hands to make sure it had stuck. This was my favourite method because the hair fell naturally onto the tape and looked like it was meant to be there. Do this for the rest of your wefts and BAM you're done. You probably won't even be able to feel your extensions because the taping in method is so light.

The extensions will be secure in your hair but as a precautionary measure you cannot shower for at least 48 hours when you've put these in. The first 48 hours can make or break the stickiness of the tape so during this period you need to be extra careful. Sleep with your hair in plaits or pigtails - no top knots or high ponytails. You need to make sure you don't pull on them too much. After 48 hours, have a normal shower. You can use normal products to wash your hair and just treat the extensions like you would with your own hair. At this point, the heat from your shower will re-activate the sticky agent on the tape and once you've washed your hair and dried it, you will find that your extensions will feel extra, extra secure. After the first wash you can pretty much do anything with your hair, style it as you want!

The extensions will last for around three months, after two-three months you will probably find your extensions have moved quite a bit down your head due to hair growth. At this stage they will need to come out. You can buy specific removing agent from ebay or you can use DIY methods like I did. For the purpose of this blog post I took my tape ins out using only baby oil bought from Superdrug. The oil seems to soak up the stickiness of the tape, make sure you completely drench the tape in the oil and leave for a few minutes, then slowly pull on your extensions and they should come right out. If not, just keep putting on oil until they do. Do no pull hard, and if it feels like it's yanking on your hair then keep putting on oil!!

As you can tell I am absolutely obsessed with my new hair. Since applying the correct tape I have had absolutely no troubles with my hair at all. They are just so comfortable that at times I cannot even feel them. I literally forget that I am wearing extensions at least five times a day. They just feel so natural to me! I really recommend the tape in method if you want semi-permanent extensions, they're just so much better than any of the other (and much more expensive methods!)

What do you think? Would you try tape ins? If you have any questions please feel free to email me! And if you want to pop these in yourself make sure that you youtube it. There are absolutely LOADS of DIY videos on there showing you how to apply them correctly and they are much more concise than this waffley post.

Bionsen Caring Touch*

Products that are great for your body are something that I am always looking out for. I just don't see the point of putting loads of awful chemicals all over yourself, it cannot be good for you in the long run. We all know that deodorant is something that is especially important. It is something that you tend to use every single day but unfortunately sometimes the deodorant you're putting on isn't always fantastic for your skin.

Caring Touch Roll-On Deodorant is a brand new product from Bionsen's range of aluminium and paraben-free deodorants. Bionsen state that their hypoallergenic-approved formula effectively neutralises bacteria responsible for body odour, protecting delicate skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and cool for up to 24 hours. Tested by the Clinic of Dermatology at Siena University, all Bionsen products are formulated using the same natural minerals that can be found in the volcanic spas of Japan (known as ‘Onsen’), long-prized for their ability to nourish the skin and keep it healthy. The entire Bionsen range is free from aluminium and parabens which have been linked with skin irritation or allergic skin reactions in those with sensitive skin.

I have become obsessed with wearing this roll-on. For the last week or so it has been living in my handbag and I have used to every day. I find that roll-ons are super handy, and this one is especially great because the smell isn't overpowering, yet the product is so ridiculously moisturising. With some roll-ons I have previously used, I have found that my underarms felt kind of sticky afterwards which is an awful feeling, but this deodorant seems to melt into your skin quickly so there is no icky feeling on my armpits!

If you are conscious about the chemicals you may be putting onto your skin when using body products, then this is the deodorant for you. I personally really love it, and am so happy that it has become a staple in my every day routine. The thing is with deodorant is that they are necessary for every day living, so I feel you should really do your research into which ones are best for you. This one is definitely best for me.

You can get all Bionsen products from Boots stores and their roll-on deodorant retails at £2.49.

(Sorry about the quality of the photography, I am having some slight technical difficulties with my camera!)
