It's an Apocalips!!

Pretty much everybody in the blogging world right now is going absolutely CRAZY for Rimmel's new lip laquer - Apocalips! These babies literally came out last Wednesday and since then I have seen hundreds of fantastic reviews and so today I thought I'd treat myself!
I bought myself Shade 400 "Big Bang" which is a really gorgeous bright red colour, Shade 303 "Apocaliptic" which is a bright pink colour and shade "Luna" (sorry within 5 minutes of having these lippies I've lost the sticker with the shade colour on - typical) which is a lovely peachy, nude colour.

So far I am really liking them! I've obviously not been able to test the durability of the shades yet but the pigmentation is fabulous and I can see them lasting a long time on my lips. They feel lovely on my lips, like a lipgloss but with more colour and I do really like the way that they look.

The packaging is gorgeous, very spacey and out of this world!

These are selling at £5.99 for 1 at Boots but there is currently an offer on 2 for 3 on all Rimmel products!

From left to right: Luna, Apocaliptic, Big Bang

(Sorry for the awful pictures of me. I am not looking or feeling my best today sob sob sob)

Damned - Chuck Palahniuk

"It's one thing for my parents to behave all secular humanist and gamble with their own eternal souls; however it's altogether not all right that they also gambled with mine: They placed their bets with such self-rightous bravado, but I'm the one who lost."

I've almost finished Damned by Chuck Palahniuk, and I thought I'd just share this brilliant piece of literature with you. I also want to shout at you and tell you to go and buy this book NOW, NOW, NOW!

Damned is written by the same author who wrote Fight Club and Invisible Monsters. Now if you've read any of Chuck's books before you'll know how bloody brilliant and insightful they are. They also have some crazy plot twists and are complete page turners - this is no different and infact I enjoyed this book more than I did when I read Fight Club.

"Meet Madison, whip-tongued daughter of a narcissistic film star and a billionaire. Abandoned at a Swiss boarding school over Christmas while her parents are off adopting more orphans. Madison dies of a marijuana overdose and awakes to find herself in Hell, sharing her cell with a motley crew of young sinners that's almost too good to be true. Welcome to the afterlife as only Palahniuk could imagine it - he makes eternal torment, well, simply divine"

It's so good! It's not only thought provoking but it makes you actually want to go to Hell. It's a fantastic read and I really do hope at least one of you goes out and gets this!

“It's obsequious little nicety-nice girls like me who allow assholes to run the world: Miss Harlot O'Harlots, billionaire phony tree huggers, hypocrite drug-snorting, weed-puffing peace activists who fund the mass-murdering drug cartels and perpetuate crushing poverty in dirt-poor banana republics. It's my petty fear of personal rejection that allows so many true evils to exist. My cowardice enables atrocities.”

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

I ran out of Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation a week or two ago and in my desperation for coverage I nipped to Tesco with my Mum. I found Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation on sale from £7.99 down to £4 so I thought "why the heck not!" and threw it in my basket.

"A match so perfect, it's undetectable in any light!
Light Perfecting radiance foundation
Traceless coverage and perfectly flawless skin under any light
Lasts all day. SPF 18"

I chose shade 010 Light Porcelain and I'm glad I did! This shade is SO perfect, a lot of foundations make my skin look overly orange (even Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation made me orangey in some places) but this foundation matches my ridiculous pale skin perfectly. It's got a great coverage, which is something I need in a foundation and it doesn't dry to the dead skin on my face (gross I know, but we all know that it happens on a cold day!)

I would say this foundation lasts a good 5 or 6 hours on my face without primer, and maybe 7 or 8 with. It smells gorgeous, I've never really felt the need to comment on a foundation's smell before, but I just really like the smell of this one!

There is 11 shades, so you will definitely be able to find a "perfect match" for yourself. It's a really good foundation and hey at £4 from Tesco - how can you say no!?

Also just a quick update on my new tortoise! Sid is settling in very well, he's a bit of an idiot and a little rascal. I took him to the vet the other day and found out that he's really under weight and he's not been eating. He had to have his beak cut off, and his nails trimmed. After a day or two of being really mad at me he's finally started eating again - and he's eating A LOT - so things are really looking up for him!

I post a lot of photos of him on my instagram so if you are interested then go follow me on there. Or my facebook! But if you are all actually interested then I'll post more about him and his progress.

And there's a cute little video of him below climbing over my Doc Martens.

Farrington Lodge Wedding Fayre

I went to another Wedding Fayre today with my sister, even though the wedding is two years away she's so excited and she is definitely going to book her venue within the next few weeks! She's probably going to book the Last Drop Hotel just because it has so much character, it's so gorgeous and gothicy - I'm so jealous as I'd want to get married there too (sigh oh well). It's all really exciting and we are going to the big Wedding Fayre at the N.E.C in Birmingham in March so that will be brilliant and we will get to try on dresses!! Once again I apologise for the quality of my pictures - camera phone!
